Especially interesting is good performance of Jeremiah Bailey (25 points), Alphonso Anderson (25 points), and Luke Avdalovic (17 points).
#1. Jeremiah Bailey, a 27-year-old forward standing at 6'7'' who graduated from Pacific in 2022 and received the All-WCC Honorable Mention award that year, currently plays professionally in Slovakia. In a recent game, Bailey led the Nitra Blue Wings to a significant 81-74 victory over the closely-ranked Slovan team in the Slovakian Tipos Slovenska Basketbalova Liga. His outstanding performance earned him the title of MVP of the game, as he scored 25 points, secured 8 rebounds, provided 5 assists, and made 3 steals in 34 minutes of play. The game between the Blue Wings and Slovan was highly anticipated as it featured two top 4 ranked teams facing off. Nitra Blue Wings, currently holding the second position in the league with a record of 25-11, celebrated their fourth consecutive victory thanks to Bailey's exceptional skills on the court. His remarkable statistics of 25 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 assists in the game against Slovan highlighted his talent and contribution to the team's success. Bailey's consistent performance throughout the season is evident in his average stats of 10.0 points per game, 5.7 rebounds per game, 3.0 assists per game, and 1.7 steals per game across the 21 games he has played so far this year. His impactful presence on the court not only elevates his team's performance but also establishes him as a true champion in the league.
#2. Alphonso Anderson, a 29-year-old 6'7'' forward and Tigers alumnus from 2022, recently received the prestigious CoSIDA NCAA Division I Academic All-District 8 Team award. He currently plays professionally in Mexico and made a significant impact in a recent game for Pioneros de Los Mochis. In a thrilling match against the third-ranked Halcones de Ciudad Obregon, Alphonso led his team to a remarkable 110-103 victory. His stellar performance on the court earned him the MVP title, as he showcased his skills by scoring 25 points in just 30 minutes of play. Despite Pioneros de Los Mochis being placed seventh in the league with a record of 16-18, Alphonso's contributions have been invaluable. As the regular season nears its end, every game becomes crucial, and Anderson's exceptional abilities will be vital for his team's success. With an impressive average of 15.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game over six games, Alphonso Anderson has been having a standout year individually. His dedication and talent have not only benefited his team but have also positioned him as a standout champion on the court.
#3. In the recent game, Luke Avdalovic, a 6'5'' guard who graduated from Pacific in 2023 and currently plays professionally in Croatia, showcased his skills for Dinamo. Despite his commendable effort as the second-best scorer with 17 points in just 21 minutes, Dinamo suffered a significant 110-91 defeat on the road against the formidable #4 ranked team, Samobor. This loss marked Dinamo's tenth consecutive defeat, highlighting the challenging season they have had. Avdalovic's performance against Samobor was indeed noteworthy, especially considering that he is only in his third season of professional basketball. His ability to contribute 17 points and 2 rebounds demonstrated his talent and potential on the court. While Dinamo couldn't secure the victory in this game, Avdalovic's consistent performance throughout the season is reflected in his solid statistics of 10.2 points per game and 2.0 rebounds per game across 25 games. Despite the team's struggles, Avdalovic's determination and skill as a champion player are evident, positioning him as a key player for Dinamo as they navigate the challenges of professional basketball. His efforts and performance on the court continue to showcase his growth and contribution to the team, setting the stage for future success as he progresses in his basketball career.
