Idaho Wins First Tournament Crown Since 1990-Mar 13, 2026
The Idaho Vandals won the 2026 Big Sky Conference Men’s Basketball Tournament Championship on Wednesday evening inside Idaho Central Arena for the first time in over 35 years.
The Vandals defeated reigning tournament champions Montana, who they fell to twice in the regular season, by a score of 77-66. This will be Idaho's first trip back to the NCAA Tournament since 1990.
Idaho also took down No. 2 Montana State, No. 3 seed Eastern Washington and No. 8 Sacramento State and en route to the tournament crown.
Montana's Money Williams (6'4''-G) was named Tournament MVP after breaking the tournament scoring record. He scored 91 total points over the course of three contests for the Grizzlies.

Terri Miller Jr, forward from the Portland State University, was selected as the Player of the Year at the NCAA Division I. He received multiple other awards, was named to the First Team and Tournament Team. Miller Jr previously earned a spot in the Second Team last year. He averaged 19 points and over 5 rebounds per game in the league. Miller Jr has totalled 13 games of 20 or more points on the year and recorded 30 or more points in 2 games. He registered double-doubles in 4 games during the event. Miller Jr's 31 points against the George Fox University were the most he scored in the 25 26 season.
Money Williams, guard from the University of Montana, was honored as the All-Tournament MVP of NCAA Division I. He collected multiple other honors, was voted to the First Team and Tournament Team. Isaiah Moses, guard from the Eastern Washington University, picked up the Newcomer of the Year at the NCAA Division I. He was also chosen to the First Team. Moses logged over 17 points and 5 assists per game over the season in the league. He has totalled 4 games of 20 or more points on the year. Moses' 28 points against the Idaho were the most he scored in the 25 26 season.
Quinn Denker, Puerto Rican guard from the University of Northern Colorado, was named to the First Team of NCAA Division II. He was previously named the Regular Season Co-Champion and Tournament Finalist last year. Denker's court vision was unparalleled as he secured the fifth spot in assists per game, delivering an average of over 7. He also averaged over 20 points per game in the league. Denker has totalled 12 games of 20 or more points on the year and registered 30 or more points in 4 games. He notched double-doubles in 4 games at the event. Denker's 35 points against the Idaho were the most he scored in the 25 26 season. Among many awards he played in the final of the CCAA Tournament in 2023. He was selected to the All-Coast Conference South Division First Team as well as the All-Defensive Team back in 2022.
