Maryland added NCAA 2002 title to it's rich basketball tradition.

 NCAA Tournament Final  -  April 2, 2002
Maryland  -  Indiana 64-52
A very ineterstign games, where smart Indiana team with it’s excellent 3-point shoot faced very athletic Maryland. No of the teams was able to control the game for the most of the time. But Maryland managed to get decisive distance in the last minutes, so it added NCAA title 2002 to it’s rich basketball tradition.

 NCAA Tournametn Semifinals - March 31, 2002
The No. 5 seeded Indiana continued their string of upsets, knocking off the No. 2 seeded Oklahoma Sooners, 73-64, to advance to the National Championship game for the first time since they won the title in 1987. They will face there Maryland, which defeated Kansas 97-88 in the other semifinal game.
