#1. Experienced champion Patrick Richard, a 6'5'' point guard aged 36, who graduated from McNeese St. in 2012 and was awarded the Louisiana Men's Basketball Player of the Year by the Louisiana Sports Writers Association in the same year, currently plays professionally in Romania. In a recent game, despite his notable performance with 5 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists in 31 minutes of play, he was unable to lead Cluj Napoca to victory against Oradea, who currently holds a strong record of 23 wins and 5 losses in the Romanian Liga Nationala Baschet de Masculin. The match saw the top-ranked Cluj Napoca narrowly defeated 87-84 on the road by the league-leading Oradea in the second stage group of the Joins LN competition. This marks Richard's seventh season with the team, where he has been a key player contributing significantly to their performances. Although Richard showcased his skills and versatility on the court, his team fell short in securing the win against Oradea. With an impressive average of 9.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game in the seven games he has played this season, Richard continues to be a valuable asset to Cluj Napoca. It is noteworthy that Richard holds dual American and Romanian citizenship, allowing him to compete in Romania as a domestic player, adding to his value and impact within the team.
#2. Brandon Murray, a 24-year-old 6'5'' guard and former Cowboys alumni from 2025, played a pivotal role in helping his team clinch the Southland Conference Regular Season Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Slovenia, Murray's skills were on display as he attempted to guide Sencur Gorenjska Kranj to victory against Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana. Despite his best efforts, including scoring 8 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 26 minutes of play, his team suffered a crushing 94-65 defeat at the hands of Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana, who ranked as the league outsider at #11. This season marks Murray's debut with Sencur Gorenjska Kranj, and he has been delivering solid performances overall. With an average of 14.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, 2.8 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in the 29 games he has played so far, Murray has been a consistent contributor on the court. Although his individual stats reflect his talent and contribution to the team, the recent loss to Cedevita Olimpija Ljubljana highlighted the challenges his team faced in securing a victory despite his efforts. Murray's presence on the team brings a valuable skill set, and his performance indicates his potential to make a significant impact throughout the season.
#3. Australian Tevin Jackson, a 6'8'' guard/forward aged 31 who graduated from McNeese St. in 2016 and currently plays professionally in Australia, made a significant contribution to the Rockingham Flames' recent victory over the 13th-ranked Senators, with a convincing scoreline of 100-68 in the Australian NBL One, the second division league, last Saturday. Despite only scoring 4 points in 15 minutes of play, Jackson's presence on the court was instrumental in securing the win. The Rockingham Flames, who are currently leading the West group with a record of 9-2, have now clinched their fifth consecutive victory under Jackson's influence. This season marks Jackson's first with the team, and his performance has been steadily improving, with notable stats of 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 steals per game over nine appearances. In a recent game against Warwick S., Jackson's 4 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 assists were pivotal in helping his team emerge as the champion in that match.
