#1. Devin Robinson, a 6'8'' forward who graduated from Florida in 2017 and currently plays professionally in Spain, unfortunately could not lead Casademont Zaragoza to victory in their recent game against UCAM. Despite a strong individual performance, where he emerged as the top scorer with 20 points and contributed 7 rebounds in 28 minutes, Zaragoza fell short on the road, losing 100-90 to the second-ranked UCAM. With only four games remaining in the Regular Season, each upcoming match becomes crucial for Zaragoza. This marks Robinson's first season with the team, and although he has showcased impressive skills, such as his recent standout performance against Murcia where he recorded 20 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 assists, the team has faced challenges in securing wins. Throughout the season, Robinson has maintained solid statistics, averaging 14.5 points per game, 5.4 rebounds per game, and 1.2 steals per game. As the season progresses, Robinson's contributions will be vital as Zaragoza strives to improve their standings and performance in the league.
#2. Phlandrous Fleming Jr., a 6'4'' guard and 27-year-old Gators alumni from the class of 2023, is currently playing professionally in France. In a recent game last Wednesday, Fleming Jr. was unable to lead Sluc Nancy Basket Pro to victory as they suffered a 91-75 defeat against the higher-ranked Chalon/Saor, who are currently at #9 in the standings. Despite his strong performance, where he contributed 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in 34 minutes of play, the team fell short on the opponent's court. This marks Fleming Jr.'s first season with the team, and he has been showcasing his skills consistently. He has been averaging 12.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 4.5 assists, and 1.6 steals per game throughout the season. In the recent game against Chalon/Saone, Fleming Jr. displayed an impressive performance, demonstrating his scoring ability, rebounding skills, and playmaking with 14 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists. Despite his efforts, the team was unable to secure the victory against the tough opponent.
#3. Russian basketball champion Samson Ruzhentsev, a 6'7'' forward aged 24 and a Florida graduate of 2021, who currently plays professionally in Russia, made a significant impact in his team's recent dominant win over the closely-ranked Lokomotiv (27-13), with a final score of 100-81 in the VTB United League on Monday night. Despite playing for only 14 minutes, Ruzhentsev managed to contribute 10 points to his team's victory. The match was highly anticipated as it featured two top 4 ranked teams competing against each other. PBC CSKA Moscow (37-3), holding the top spot in the league, showcased their dominance with this win, marking their tenth consecutive victory. This season marks Ruzhentsev's debut with the team, and his performance against Lokomotiv was remarkable, scoring 10 points, securing 2 rebounds, and providing 1 assist, ultimately playing a pivotal role in his team's success. Throughout the season, Ruzhentsev has maintained an average of 8.4 points per game, 3.1 rebounds per game, and 1.1 assists per game, showcasing his consistency and value to the team.
#4. Experienced Greek player Nick Calathes, a 37-year-old 6'5'' point guard and a former Gators alumnus from 2009, currently plays professionally in Serbia. Recently, he played a crucial role in helping KK Partizan Mozzart Bet Beograd emerge victorious against the closely-ranked Crvena zvezda with a score of 89-78 in a highly anticipated derby game in the AdmiralBet ABA League on Thursday night. In this intense matchup between two top 4 ranked teams, Calathes showcased his skills by contributing 5 points and 4 assists in just 16 minutes of play. KK Partizan Mozzart Bet Beograd, with a record of 21-3, holds the second position in the league standings. In the game against Crvena zvezda, Calathes not only scored 5 points but also recorded 3 rebounds and 4 assists, playing a key role in securing the victory for his team and ultimately being crowned as the finalist. Throughout this season, Calathes has maintained solid averages of 6.2 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 5.5 assists per game, which ranks him as the second-best in the league in terms of assists. It is worth noting that Nick Calathes, despite his Greek heritage, is a naturalized American player who continues to demonstrate his talent and leadership on the basketball court.
#5. Canadian Tyrese Samuel, a 6'10'' forward at 25 years old, graduated from Florida in 2024 and played a crucial role in helping his team reach the final of the SEC Tournament that year. Currently playing professionally in Canada, Samuel showcased his talent in a recent game where the Vancouver Bandits emerged victorious against the Stingers with a convincing 111-88 win. As the season progresses, Samuel's impact on the court is expected to continue to shine, potentially leading his team to further success as they aim for more victories and a strong finish in the league.
#6. Alex Fudge, a 23-year-old 6'8'' forward and proud Gators alumnus from the class of 2023, showcased his skills in the Canadian Elite Basketball League by leading the Ottawa Blackjacks to a 91-85 victory over the River Lions on Monday night. In a remarkable display of talent, Fudge contributed significantly to his team's success by scoring 14 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and making 3 blocks in just 24 minutes of play. Furthermore, Fudge continued his impressive performance by scoring another 14 points, securing 5 rebounds, and providing 1 assist in a crucial game against the Niagara team, ultimately leading his team to victory. His exceptional contributions on the court were pivotal in securing the win and reaffirming his status as a champion. Throughout the season, Fudge has maintained solid statistics, averaging 11.6 points per game, 6.4 rebounds per game, and leading the league with 2.0 blocks per game. Additionally, he has showcased his defensive prowess by averaging 1.6 steals per game. Fudge's consistent performance throughout the season highlights his potential as a finalist in the league.
