#1. Tyree Boykin, a 6'0'' point guard who is 27 years old and graduated from App State in 2023, currently plays professionally in Georgia. In a recent game, Boykin, a finalist of the CSC NCAA Division I Academic All-District Team, showcased his skills for Kutaisi. Despite his outstanding performance, where he scored 38 points, grabbed 6 rebounds, and dished out 5 assists in 37 minutes, his team, the league leader Kutaisi, was defeated 80-86 at home by the lower-ranked team, Orbi. Boykin's impressive performance in the game highlighted his capabilities, especially considering that he is only in his third season of professional basketball. Throughout this season, Boykin has maintained solid statistics, averaging 15.0 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game in the 19 games he has played so far.
#2. Experienced champion Donald Sims, a 6'3'' shooting guard who is 39 years old and an alum of Mountaineers from 2011, currently plays professionally in Uruguay. In a recent game, he led Aguada to a 96-83 victory over the second-ranked Nacional with an outstanding performance that earned him the MVP title. Sims showcased his skills by scoring 21 points and making all six of his free throws, in addition to recording 3 steals in 32 minutes of play. The game was a highly anticipated matchup between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6, with Atletico Aguada Montevideo, Sims' team, currently holding the third position with a record of 21-11. This win was particularly significant as it marked their first victory after suffering three consecutive losses. Against Nacional, Sims displayed his versatility on the court by not only scoring 21 points but also contributing 3 rebounds and 2 assists, playing a crucial role in his team's success as they emerged as the champion of the game. Throughout the season, Sims has been performing exceptionally well, averaging 18.6 points per game (ranking third best in the league), along with 1.8 rebounds and 4.0 assists in 23 games. His consistent high-level performance has undoubtedly made him a standout finalist in the league.
#3. In a recent Australian NBL One game, Dibaji Walker, a 6'9'' power forward who graduated from App State in 2023 and currently plays professionally in Australia, showcased his talent by leading the Frankston Blues to a decisive 87-77 victory over the 13th-ranked Braves. Walker's exceptional performance earned him the MVP title of the game, where he notably scored a remarkable 34 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots in a 36-minute display of skill and athleticism. This victory propelled the Frankston Blues to a respectable fifth place in the South group standings. In another impressive showing against Bendigo B, Walker once again proved his prowess on the court by contributing 34 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists to secure a win for his team, solidifying his status as the champion of the game. Throughout the season, Walker has been consistently delivering strong performances, averaging 16.8 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game over the course of 13 games, establishing himself as a standout player in his third season of professional basketball.
