Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Here is the weekly review of the top performing Scarlet Knights alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Nigerian Clifford Omoruyi, a 6'11'' center who is 24 years old, graduated from Alabama in 2025 after playing for Rutgers from 2020 to 2024, where he received an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention award. Currently, he is showcasing his skills as a professional player in Greece. In a recent game last Saturday, Omoruyi, despite his notable performance, was unable to lead PAOK (17-7) to a victory. PAOK suffered a defeat of 102-94 at home against the second-ranked Panathinaikos. During the game, Omoruyi emerged as the second-best scorer for his team, contributing 19 points and securing 7 rebounds in just 24 minutes of play. His remarkable performance against Panathinaikos included not only scoring but also assisting with 2 additional points. Despite his impressive efforts, PAOK was unable to clinch the win and ended up as the losing team. Throughout this season, Omoruyi has been averaging 7.8 points per game and 4.2 rebounds per game.
#2. Dylan Harper, a 20-year-old guard standing at 6'6" and an alumnus of the Scarlet Knights from 2025, received an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention award that year and now plays professionally in the NBA. Despite his notable performance, Harper could not assist the San Antonio Spurs (62-21) in their recent game last Wednesday. The Spurs, with a strong record of 62-21, were defeated 105-95 on the road by the New York Knicks. During the game, Harper showcased his skills by scoring 16 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and playing for 28 minutes. This marked his first season with the team, and although he put up an impressive performance against the Knicks, contributing significantly with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist, his efforts were not enough to secure a victory for his team. Throughout the season, Harper has maintained high individual statistics, averaging 12.2 points per game, 3.9 rebounds per game, and 3.5 assists per game. Despite the team's loss in the recent game, Harper's consistent performance and contributions demonstrate his potential as a future champion in the league.
#3. Experienced point guard Myles Mack, standing at 5'10'' and 33 years old, graduated from Rutgers in 2015 and received an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention award that year. Currently, he is playing professionally in the Dominican Republic. Despite Mack's best efforts, he was unable to lead the Reales (8-9) to a victory over the Metros (13-4) in a recent game in the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. In the matchup, Mack played for 31 minutes, scoring 7 points and delivering 7 assists. The Reales, who are in the top position with an 8-9 record, suffered a 95-82 defeat at the hands of the Metros, who are ranked lower at #3 in the Places 1-6 group. With only one more game left in the Regular Season, Mack's team faces a critical moment as they strive for success. Despite the loss, Mack showcased a commendable performance against the Metros, contributing 7 points, 3 rebounds, and 7 assists. Throughout the season, Mack has been averaging 5.3 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.0 assists per game. His dedication and skills on the court make him a valuable asset for the Reales as they aim to secure their position as a championship contender.
#4. South Sudanese player Mawot Mag, standing at 6'7'' and a former Rutgers player from 2020 to 2024 before graduating from Cougars alumni in 2025, showcased his skills last Saturday in Australia's pro league. Despite his commendable performance, Mag could not carry Waverley Falcons (5-7) to victory against the Braves (#12) in Bendigo, with the Falcons falling short 91-84 to the higher-ranked team. In the game, Mag scored 11 points, grabbed 9 rebounds, and provided 2 assists in 29 minutes of play. Even though Mag displayed an impressive performance against the Bendigo Braves, contributing significantly with 11 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists, his efforts were not enough to secure the win for Waverley Falcons. Throughout this season, Mag has maintained an average of 9.3 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. It is noteworthy that Mag holds both American and South Sudanese citizenship, enabling him to play in South Sudan as a domestic player.
#5. Tyson Acuff, a 6'4'' guard who is 23 years old and graduated from Rutgers in 2025, currently plays professionally in Estonia. Despite his efforts, Acuff, a finalist, could not lead Kalev/Cramo (7-0) to victory against Tartu (2-5) in the Estonian Paf Korvpalli Meistriliiga. In the recent match, Acuff scored only 2 points in 11 minutes of play, making it a challenging game for him. The league-leading Kalev/Cramo suffered a significant 85-65 loss to the lower-ranked Tartu (#7) on their home court, marking a tough defeat for the champion team. This is Acuff's first season with Kalev/Cramo, and although he contributed with 2 points and 1 rebound against Tartu, his team ultimately fell short in the game. Throughout the season, Acuff has been averaging 5.8 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game, showcasing his skills and versatility on the court.
#6. C.J. Gettys, a 7'0'' center and 32-year-old alum of the Scarlet Knights (class of 2017), currently playing professionally in Indonesia, showcased his exceptional skills on the court in Kesatria's recent game against Borneo. Despite his impressive performance, Kesatria was narrowly defeated 93-91 by the higher-ranked Borneo team, currently sitting at #3 in the league standings. During the game, Gettys demonstrated his prowess by recording a double-double, scoring 11 points, grabbing 13 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists in 39 minutes of play. His all-around contribution highlighted his value to the team, even though the final result did not go in Kesatria's favor. Nevertheless, his outstanding performance did not go unnoticed, as he was awarded the Triple-Double Badge by eurobasket.com, solidifying his reputation as a true champion on the court. Individually, Gettys is having an impressive season, boasting high statistics across the board. He is averaging 18.0 points per game, 11.9 rebounds per game, 3.9 assists per game, 1.1 blocks per game, and 1.2 steals per game.
