Courtesy of Eurobasket LLC Every week we bring you a list of the top former Aggies players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Experienced champion Mali Bandja Sy, a 6'9'' power forward at 35 years old, graduated from NM State in 2013 where he helped them clinch the WAC Tournament title that year. Currently playing professionally in Romania, Sy recently led his team, CSM CSU Oradea, to a crucial victory against closely-ranked Dinamo Bucuresti with a score of 76-72 in the Romanian Liga Nationala Baschet de Masculin last Sunday. In this significant game between two top 4 ranked teams, Sy contributed 12 points and 2 rebounds in 28 minutes of play. This win marked Oradea's third consecutive victory, solidifying their first-place standing in the league. Sy's stellar performance against Dinamo Bucuresti showcased his skills and determination as a finalist, as he played a key role in securing the victory for his team. Throughout this season, he has maintained an average of 8.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game in the 29 games he has played so far. It is worth noting that in addition to his basketball prowess, Sy also holds French citizenship.
#2. Jemerrio Jones, a 31-year-old guard standing at 6'5'' and an Aggies alum from 2018, currently plays professionally in Mexico. Recently, he played a pivotal role in a resounding victory against the eighth-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis, with his team, Frayles de Guasave, dominating the game with a final score of 103-83 in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del PacÃÂfico. Jones showcased his skills by contributing 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists in just 27 minutes of play. Frayles de Guasave, currently holding the second position in the league standings, greatly benefited from Jones' stellar performance in the match against Los Mochis. His impressive statistics and impactful presence on the court undeniably played a key role in securing the team's victory. Jones' consistent display of talent, determination, and leadership truly embodies the essence of a champion. Throughout the season, Jones has maintained strong performance averages across various categories. He currently ranks fourth in the league with an average of 6.6 points per game, second with 9.0 rebounds per game, fourth with 1.8 steals per game, and also contributes 4.5 assists per game in the 41 games played so far. His exceptional contributions on the court undoubtedly position him as a formidable finalist in the league.
#3. Australian Amarco Doyle, a 6'7'' forward who recently graduated from NM State in 2025, has been making waves in the professional basketball scene in Australia. After helping his college team reach the final of the NJCAA D1 Region XXVIII, he has continued to showcase his talent as he now plays for the Cairns Marlins in the Australian NBL One. In a recent game against the sixth-ranked Meteors, Doyle led the Cairns Marlins to a dominant 110-83 victory. He displayed an impressive performance, scoring 19 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, dishing out 3 assists, and blocking 2 shots in just 28 minutes of play. This exceptional showing is even more remarkable considering it is only his first season in professional basketball. The Cairns Marlins, with a flawless 6-0 record, currently sit at the top of the North group standings. In another standout game against Mackay M, Doyle once again proved his worth by contributing 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 assists to secure a crucial victory for his team. His remarkable efforts on the court have undoubtedly played a pivotal role in leading his team to emerge as the champion. Individually, Doyle has been having a stellar year, averaging 19.5 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game across the six games played so far in the Regular Season. His impressive statistics and impactful performances highlight his potential to become a future champion in the world of basketball.
#4. Zach Lofton, a 6'4'' guard and 33-year-old Aggies alum from the class of 2018, was a key player in helping his team clinch the SWAC Regular Season Champion title in that year. Currently playing professionally in Egypt, Lofton recently competed for Al Ahly Cairo in a match against ASCVD in the Basketball Africa League. Despite Lofton's strong effort, Al Ahly Cairo was unable to secure a victory, falling 93-90 to ASCVD on the road. In the game, Lofton showcased his skills by contributing 8 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists during his 32 minutes on the court. His performance was notable, but unfortunately, his team was unable to emerge victorious against the lower-ranked ASCVD team. Throughout the season, Lofton has maintained high individual statistics, averaging 15.5 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 5.2 assists per game over six games. Despite the challenges faced by his team, Lofton's contributions as a champion player and finalist have been significant throughout the season.
#5. Christian Cook, a 6'2'' guard who recently graduated from NM State in 2025, has been showcasing his skills as a professional player in Australia. Despite his impressive performance, Cook was unable to assist the struggling Albury Wodonga Bandits, who currently hold the 16th position with a record of 0-10, in their latest game against the Sharks. The Bandits suffered a significant defeat of 111-94 in Sutherland, with Cook contributing 20 points during his 30 minutes on the court. This notable performance is particularly commendable considering it is his debut season in professional basketball. Although Cook displayed a strong showing against the Sharks by scoring 20 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and providing 1 assist, his efforts were not enough to secure a victory for the Albury Wodonga Bandits. Despite his individual success, the team has faced challenges throughout the Regular Season, losing all ten games played so far. Cook's personal statistics for the season reflect his impactful contributions on the court, averaging 17.8 points, 2.5 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game over the course of 10 matches. His consistent performance and dedication to the game highlight his potential to become a champion player in the future.
#6. Teddy Allen, a 6'6'' guard and 27-year-old Aggies alum from 2022, currently plays professionally in Canada. Recently, he was unable to lead the Winnipeg Sea Bears (3-1) to victory in their latest game against the Shooting Stars in Toronto, where they were narrowly defeated 103-101. Despite Allen's stellar performance, scoring 33 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and providing 4 assists in 38 minutes, Winnipeg fell short in the contest. Allen's exceptional individual contributions have been noteworthy throughout the season. He has been a standout performer, averaging 26.5 points per game (the third-best in the league), along with 7.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 3.8 steals per game (the second-best in the league) over the course of four games. Despite his impressive statistics and significant impact on the court, his team has faced challenges in securing victories, including the recent defeat against the Shooting Stars. Allen's remarkable skills and consistent performance make him a key player to watch as the season progresses.
#7. Terrell Brown, a 6'1'' guard who graduated from NM State in 2020 and helped them secure the WAC Regular Season Champion title that year, is currently playing professionally in Mexico. In this game, Brown showcased his skills by scoring 19 points, grabbing 1 rebound, and providing 6 assists in just 24 minutes of play. His remarkable performance against Tijuana highlighted his capabilities on the court and contributed significantly to his team's success, further solidifying his reputation as a true champion. Throughout the season, Brown has maintained strong statistics, averaging 13.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in 19 appearances.
