#1. Guinean Sekou Sylla, a 6'5'' forward who is 26 years old and graduated from Towson in 2023, showcased his skills in a recent game in the Dominican Republic Liga Nacional de Baloncesto. Playing for Reales, he led his team to a convincing 90-63 victory over the underdog Soles, who have a record of 2-14. Despite it being only Sylla's third season in professional basketball, he displayed an impressive performance by recording a double-double with 16 points and 12 rebounds in just 24 minutes on the court. Reales de La Vega, currently placed fourth in the league with a record of 8-7, is gearing up for the last two games of the Regular Season, where every match will be crucial in determining their playoff fate. Sylla's exceptional performance against Soles, where he contributed 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 2 assists, not only secured the victory for his team but also earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com. This recognition further cements his reputation as a true champion in the sport. Throughout the season, Sylla has maintained impressive statistics, averaging 15.4 points per game, 9.1 rebounds (ranking third in the league), and 1.2 assists. It is worth noting that Sylla is a naturalized American, bringing his unique talent and skills to the basketball court.
#2. Charles Thompson, a 25-year-old 6'7'' forward and Tigers alumni from 2024, currently playing professionally in Germany, unfortunately could not assist FIT/One Wuerzburg Baskets (20-14) in their recent game last Friday. Despite his commendable effort, Wuerzburg suffered a narrow 80-76 defeat on the road against the higher-ranked Telekom Baskets (#4). Thompson, who received the CAA All-Defensive Team award in 2024, demonstrated his skills by contributing 11 points and 3 assists in just 20 minutes of play. This marks Thompson's debut season with the team, and he has been making a notable impact. In a previous game against Bonn, he showcased his abilities with 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 3 assists. Despite his impressive performance, Wuerzburg fell short and ended up on the losing side. Throughout the season, Thompson has been maintaining solid averages of 8.1 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.2 blocks per game, ranking him as the third-best shot blocker in the league.
#3. Nicolas Timberlake, a 6'4'' guard who is 27 years old, graduated from Kansas in 2024 but previously played for Towson from 2018 to 2023 where he received the All-CAA First Team award. Currently, he is playing professionally in Belgium. In a recent game, Timberlake, in his first season with Hubo Limburg United, faced off against the Antwerp Giants. Despite his commendable performance of scoring 9 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in just 17 minutes of play, his team was unable to secure a victory and was defeated 84-73 by the Giants, who are currently ranked second in the league. This season, Timberlake has been averaging 9.2 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.3 assists per game.
#4. Timajh Parker-Rivera, a 32-year-old former Tigers alumnus from 2016, stands tall at 6'8'' and plays as a Center/Forward. He currently showcases his skills as a professional player in Puerto Rico. Despite scoring only 2 points in 12 minutes, Parker-Rivera made a significant impact in the recent game where Gigantes de Carolina triumphed over the fifth-ranked Leones with a score of 85-80 in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional. His contribution helped his team secure the victory and move closer to the top, with Gigantes de Carolina now holding the third spot in Group B. In another game against Ponce, Parker-Rivera once again displayed his prowess on the court by scoring 2 points and grabbing 1 rebound, aiding his team in clinching the win and advancing to the final. With an average of 1.9 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game this season, Parker-Rivera continues to be a valuable asset to his team. It is noteworthy that Parker-Rivera holds both American and Puerto Rican citizenship, allowing him to play in Puerto Rico as a domestic player, which further enhances his versatility and contributions to his team's success.
