We bring you last week's top former Mustangs players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. David Nwaba (6'5''-G/F-1993, played in 2013-16, plays pro in Japan) led San-en NeoPhoenix to a 2-point victory over the sixth-ranked Golden Kings (9-6) 83-81 in the Japanese B1 League in Sunday night's game. Nwaba was MVP of the game. He had a double-double by scoring 30 points and getting 10 rebounds. Nwaba also added 5 assists in 35 minutes. San-en NeoPhoenix (7-8) is placed eighth in West group. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. Nwaba has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 20.9ppg, 8.4rpg, 4.2apg and 2.0spg in 13 games he played so far. Nwaba is a naturalized Nigerian. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

#2. Jarred Hyder (6'3''-PG, played in 2023-25, plays in Croatia) could not help one of league's weakest teams Alkar (4-3) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Hyder's good performance Alkar was edged79-76 at home by the higher-ranked Samobor (#4). He was the second best scorer with 14 points. It was his first game for Alkar this season. But the season just started, so everything may happen.

#3. Jakub Niziol (6'7''-F-1996, played in 2016-19, currently in Poland) was not able to help WKS Slask Wroclaw in their game against Wilki Morskie (5-1) in the Polish OBL. He scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 29 minutes. WKS Slask Wroclaw was edged83-80 on the road by the second-ranked Wilki Morskie. It was WKS Slask Wroclaw's first loss after three consecutive victories. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. This year Niziol averages 7.8ppg, 4.8rpg and 1.4apg in five games.

#4. Chance Hunter (6'6''-SF-1998, played in 2022-23, plays pro in Argentina) led Salta Basket to a 3-point victory over the 17th-ranked Colon SF (0-4) 78-75 in the Argentinian La Liga Argentina (second division) in Monday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Hunter scored 20 points and grabbed 7 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Salta Basket (2-1) is placed seventh in Conferencia Norte. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Hunter's first year with the team. This season Hunter has very high stats. He averages 17.0ppg, 5.3rpg, 1.3bpg and 1.7spg.

#5. Isaac Jessup (6'2''-G-2002, played in 2024-25, plays in Bulgaria) was not able to secure a victory for Beroe (3-3) in their game against Rilski (5-1) in the Bulgarian NBL. He scored 6 points and added 4 passes in only 14 minutes. Beroe was crushed96-74 on their home court in Stara Zagora by the second-ranked Rilski. It was Beroe's third consecutive loss in a row. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. It's Jessup's first year with the team. This season Jessup averages 4.8ppg, 1.2rpg and 1.8apg in five games.

#6. Joel Awich (6'7''-F-1993, played in 2011-11, currently in France) couldn't help Quimper UJAP in their game against Calvados in the French ProB (second division). Awich did not beat the league record on Friday evening. He recorded only 2 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. His team was defeated 79-66. This season Awich averages 5.9ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.7apg.
