Here is the weekly review of the top performing Hurricanes alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Jasmyne Roberts, a 5'10'' guard who graduated from Miami, FL in 2025 and now plays professionally in the UPSHOT league, recently faced a tough challenge when her team, the Charlotte Crown, took on the Savannah Steel. Despite Roberts' efforts, the Crown fell short and lost the game with a close score of 73-72 on the road against the Steel. This defeat marked the Crown's sixth consecutive loss in a row, highlighting the team's current struggle in the league.
In the game against the Savannah Steel, Roberts displayed her skills on the court by scoring 4 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in 24 minutes of play. Although her individual performance was commendable, it was not enough to secure a victory for her team. Nevertheless, Roberts exhibited the resilience and determination of a true champion, showcasing her unwavering spirit even in the face of defeat.
Despite the challenging start to the season for the Charlotte Crown, Roberts has maintained an average of 5.4 points per game and 2.3 rebounds per game. As the season progresses, there is still potential for the team to turn things around, and with players like Roberts leading the charge, anything is possible in the competitive world of professional basketball.
