We bring you last week's top former Mustangs players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Uruguayan Carmela Fontes, a 6'2'' forward who recently graduated from Cal Poly in 2025 at the age of 20, made a significant impact in the Uruguayan Liga Femenina de Basquetbol. Playing professionally in Uruguay, she led her team, Malvin, to a dominant victory over Cordon, one of the league's weaker teams, with a resounding 79-18 win in a derby game last Sunday. Despite playing only 19 minutes, Fontes showcased her talent by scoring 11 points and securing 6 rebounds.
Malvin Montevideo, currently holding the second spot in the league with a record of 7-1, has been on a winning streak, with this latest victory marking their fifth consecutive triumph. Fontes' exceptional performance against Cordon was instrumental in her team's success, highlighting her abilities as a finalist. Her consistent contributions throughout the season, where she has averaged 6.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game in the eight games played so far, demonstrate her value as a key player on the team.
