Here is the weekly review of the top performing Spartans alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Spanish champion Francis Alonso, a 6'3'' shooting guard at 30 years old, graduated from UNCG in 2019 and received the All-SoCon First Team award that year. Currently playing professionally in Spain, Alonso recently showcased his skills for Rio Breogan Lugo in their final game. Despite his outstanding performance, where he led the team with 33 points in just 29 minutes of play, Rio Breogan narrowly lost 95-94 to the lower-ranked Zaragoza, ranked #15. This marked the end of the Regular Season, and it's worth noting that this is Alonso's debut season with the team. Against Zaragoza, he displayed an impressive all-around game by not only scoring 33 points but also contributing with 3 rebounds and 2 assists. Throughout the season, Alonso has maintained solid statistics, averaging 14.6 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists in the 34 games he has participated in so far. Despite the unfortunate outcome in the final game, Alonso's performance and dedication on the court have been commendable throughout the season, solidifying his position as a key player for Rio Breogan Lugo.

#2. Marvin Smith, a 30-year-old forward standing at 6'6'' and an alumnus of Spartans from 2018 where he helped them secure the SoCon Regular Season Champion title that year, currently plays professionally in the Dominican Republic. In a recent game, he led Caneros to a thrilling 105-100 victory over the second-ranked Indios with an impressive performance. Smith contributed 19 points in just 24 minutes of play, showcasing his skill and impact on the court. Despite Caneros Del Este holding the seventh position in the league with an 8-8 record, Smith's leadership and prowess have been instrumental in their success. The Regular Season has already concluded, with Smith emerging as a standout player in the league. His stellar performance against Indios, where he not only scored 19 points but also secured 2 rebounds and provided 1 assist, was crucial in securing the victory and solidifying his team's position as the champion. Throughout the season, Smith has maintained solid statistics, averaging 11.7 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in the nine games he has played so far. His consistent contributions and standout performances have undoubtedly made him a key player for Caneros Del Este as they strive for further success in the league.

#3. Diante Baldwin, a 31-year-old point guard standing at 6'0'' who graduated from UNCG in 2017 after helping them become SoCon Regular Season Co-Champion, currently plays professionally in Israel. Recently, he played a crucial role in Elitzur BRIGA Netanya's victory over the eighth-ranked Hapoel Beer Sheva with a score of 83-79 in the Israeli Winner League. Despite scoring only 2 points, Baldwin showcased his playmaking skills by recording 8 assists and displaying strong defensive prowess with 6 steals in 25 minutes on the court. Elitzur BRIGA Netanya, currently placed 12th in the league with a record of 7-19, secured their first win after a series of four consecutive losses, thanks in part to Baldwin's contributions. In his most recent game against Hapoel Beer Sheva, he not only scored 2 points and grabbed 2 rebounds but also facilitated 8 assists, demonstrating his ability to lead his team to victory as a champion. Throughout the season, Baldwin has maintained impressive averages of 8.0 points, 2.9 rebounds, 6.1 assists, and 2.1 steals per game in 12 appearances, with the latter statistic making him the league leader in steals.
