Every week we bring you a list of the top former Aztecs players who continue their career in pro basketball.
Notice impressive performance of Malachi Flynn (24 points), Matt Mitchell (8 points), and Darrion Trammell (18 points).

#1. Malachi Flynn, a 6'1'' guard who graduated from SDSU in 2020 and received the All-MWC Player of the Year award, is currently playing professionally in Turkey. In a recent game, he proved to be a key player for Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul as they secured a significant 94-78 victory against Trabzonspor, a closely-ranked opponent with a record of 19-11 in the Turkish ING Basketbol Super Ligi. Flynn's stellar performance saw him scoring 24 points and making 5 assists in just 28 minutes of play. Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul, with a record of 21-9, currently holds the third position in the league standings. This season marks Flynn's debut with the team, and he has been making a noticeable impact with his average stats of 15.0 points, 2.8 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.5 steals per game across the 28 games he has played so far. Flynn's exceptional display in the match against Trabzonspor highlighted his skills and talent, ultimately contributing to his team's victory and further establishing his reputation as a champion on the court.

#2. Matt Mitchell, a 6'7'' forward who is 27 years old and an Aztecs alumnus from 2021, currently plays professionally in Turkey. He was honored with the All-MWC All-Tournament MVP award in the same year. Mitchell is a teammate of the aforementioned Malachi Flynn. In a recent game in the Turkish ING Basketbol Super Ligi, Mitchell's team, Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul, secured a decisive victory over the closely-ranked Trabzonspor with a score of 91-65. During the game, Mitchell showcased his skills by contributing 8 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in just 26 minutes of play. This stellar performance helped Bahcesehir Koleji Istanbul, currently placed third in the league, to emerge victorious as the champion. Throughout the season, Mitchell has been averaging 5.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game in 31 appearances.

#3. Darrion Trammell, a 5'10'' point guard who graduated from SDSU in 2024 and helped them reach the final of the MWC Tournament that year, is currently playing professionally in Hungary. In a recent game, despite Trammell's exceptional performance, he couldn't prevent his team, Kaposvari (17-9), from losing 71-77 to the lower-ranked Atomeromu (#7) in the Play-Off group. Trammell stood out as the top scorer with 18 points, along with contributing 7 rebounds and 4 assists in 32 minutes on the court. This performance is particularly remarkable considering it's only his second season in professional basketball. This defeat marked Kaposvari's first loss after a successful streak of five consecutive victories. Throughout the season, Trammell has been having an outstanding year individually, maintaining impressive statistics with an average of 15.9 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game, 4.7 assists per game, and 2.2 steals per game (the second-best in the league) across 38 games.

#4. Jay Pal, a 6'9'' forward aged 26 and an alumnus of the Aztecs from 2024, played a pivotal role in guiding his team to the final of the MWC Tournament that year. Currently, he is showcasing his talents as a professional player in Mexico. In a recent game, he led Frayles de Guasave to a resounding victory over the eighth-ranked Pioneros Los Mochis with a scoreline of 103-83 in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico. Pal's outstanding performance earned him the title of MVP for the game, as he contributed 17 points and 6 rebounds in just 30 minutes of play, an impressive feat for someone in only their second season in professional basketball. With Frayles de Guasave holding the second position in the league with a record of 23-17, Pal's impact on the team is undeniable. Against Los Mochis, Pal displayed his prowess by scoring 17 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and providing 1 assist, ultimately leading his team to victory. His exceptional display exemplified his skills as a true champion on the court. Throughout the season, Pal has maintained solid statistics, averaging 12.8 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game across 43 games. Additionally, it is noteworthy that Pal is a naturalized South Sudanese, adding to the diversity and talent he brings to the basketball scene.

#5. Trey Pulliam, a 6'3'' guard who is 27 years old and graduated from SDSU in 2022, made a notable contribution to his team by helping them reach the final of the MWC Tournament in that same year. Currently playing professionally in Lithuania, Pulliam recently played for Gargzdu but unfortunately could not lead them to victory against Neptunas in the Lithuanian Betsafe Lietuvos krepsinio lyga. In a match where Gargzdu suffered a 74-84 defeat at home to the higher-ranked Neptunas, Pulliam's performance was not at its peak, as he only managed to score 2 points in 11 minutes of play. Despite the loss, Pulliam displayed a commendable effort against Neptunas by scoring 2 points and securing 3 rebounds. This season marks Pulliam's debut with the team, and he has been averaging 7.6 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game in the 33 games he has played so far. While the game against Neptunas may not have been one of his best, Pulliam continues to strive for success as he navigates his first season with Gargzdu in Lithuania.
