EuroBasket Pro 49ers Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former 49ers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
Especially interesting is good performance of Jon Davis (19 points), Giancarlo Rosado (11 points), and Anzac Rissetto (3 points).



   #1. Jon Davis, a 6'3'' guard who graduated from Charlotte in 2019 and currently plays professionally in Bulgaria, recently showcased his skills in a thrilling match. He led Rilski to a 100-94 victory over the closely-ranked Cherno More, with Davis being named the MVP of the game. In just 22 minutes of play, he scored an impressive 19 points, demonstrating his prowess on the court. This game was a highly anticipated matchup between two top 4 ranked teams in the Bulgarian National Basketball League. Rilski Sportist Samokov, Davis's team, emerged victorious, securing their sixth consecutive win in the league and maintaining their position at the top of the standings with a record of 25-5. Davis's performance against Cherno More highlighted his importance to the team, as he not only scored 19 points but also contributed with 1 rebound and 2 assists. His overall stats for the season reflect his consistency and impact on the court, averaging 12.1 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 2.2 assists per game. Davis's standout play in this game further solidified his reputation as a champion player and key contributor to Rilski's success in the league.

   #2. In a thrilling match on Thursday night, Giancarlo Rosado, a 6'8'' forward and 49ers alumnus from 2025 currently playing professionally in Puerto Rico, showcased his prowess by leading Santeros de Aguada to a 94-87 victory over the league-leading Atleticos with his 11-point contribution in just 25 minutes of play. This crucial win marked a significant moment in the Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional, as it pitted two top 3 ranked teams in Group A against each other. Santeros de Aguada, currently holding the third position with an 11-10 record, demonstrated their strength under Rosado's leadership. Moreover, Rosado's impactful performance extended beyond scoring, as he also added 2 rebounds and 2 assists in a key matchup against San German. His all-around contribution was pivotal in securing the triumph for his team, highlighting his skills, dedication, and ability to perform under pressure like a true champion. Throughout the season, Rosado has maintained solid averages of 8.7 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game, further solidifying his status as a standout player in the league.

   #3. New Zealand's Anzac Rissetto, a 25-year-old forward/center standing at 6'10'' and a graduate of Charlotte in 2021, showcased his skills in the recent game where Phoenix Hagen emerged victorious against Eisbaeren Bremerhaven in the German BARMER 2. Basketball Bundesliga ProA. Despite scoring just 3 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in a 10-minute appearance, Rissetto's contribution was crucial in the closely-fought 83-78 win. The game was a highly anticipated showdown between two top 4 ranked teams, with Phoenix Hagen (28-6) currently leading the league standings. Rissetto, in his first season with the team, proved instrumental in the matchup against Bremerhaven, notching 3 points, 4 rebounds, and 1 assist to help secure the important victory and ultimately claim the champion title. Throughout the season, Rissetto has maintained an average of 6.1 points per game and 3.5 rebounds per game, showcasing his consistent performance and valuable presence on the court for Phoenix Hagen.

   #4. Dean Reiber, a 6'10'' forward and 49ers alumnus from 2025, currently playing professionally in Hungary, showcased his talent in a recent game but could not lead his team, BKG-Prima, to a victory. Despite his impressive performance of scoring 17 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists in 37 minutes of play, BKG-Prima suffered a 94-83 defeat at home against the top-ranked Phoenix-MT. Reiber's individual season performance has been outstanding, with averages of 19.8 points per game, 8.6 rebounds per game, 1.8 assists per game, 1.5 blocks per game (the second best in the league), and 1.1 steals per game, solidifying his status as a champion player in the league.

   #5. Isaiah Folkes, a 6'4'' guard who graduated from Charlotte in 2025 and currently plays professionally in the TBL, played a crucial role in his team's dominant 101-86 victory against the DMV Soldiers on Saturday night. In just 21 minutes of play, he showcased his skills by scoring 10 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and dishing out 5 assists. This impressive performance was pivotal in securing the win for his team in a highly anticipated match-up between two of the top 2 ranked teams in the Mid Atlantic group. The DC Heat, with a rather weak 14-5 record this season, faced tough competition from Folkes and his squad. Folkes' standout display on the court exemplified the qualities of a true champion, as he demonstrated his talent and determination in guiding his team to victory. As the regular season in The Basketball League nears its end, Folkes will have one more critical game ahead, where his contributions will be essential for his team's success. Throughout the season, Folkes has maintained solid averages of 8.7 points, 4.4 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game, further solidifying his reputation as a key player and a formidable finalist in the league.

   #6. Dominican Republic's Jhery Matos, a 6'5'' shooting guard aged 30 and an alum of the 49ers class of 2021, currently plays professionally in Venezuela. In a recent game, Matos showcased his skills on the court, scoring 9 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists in a total of 29 minutes of play. Despite his impressive performance, his team, the Spartans, fell short against the Marinos, losing by a close margin of 86-84. Matos has been consistent throughout the season, maintaining an average of 8.0 points per game, 5.7 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals. Although he couldn't help lead the Spartans to victory in this particular game, his dedication and contributions as a player are noteworthy.
