EuroBasket Pro Broncos Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Broncos players who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Jalen Williams, a 25-year-old guard/forward standing at 6'6'' who graduated from Santa Clara in 2022, is currently playing professionally in the NBA. He was recognized as a finalist for the Lou Henson National Player of the Year Award in 2022. In his debut season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Williams showcased his skills in a recent game against the San Antonio Spurs, where despite his remarkable performance, his team suffered a 122-115 defeat on the road. Williams displayed his scoring prowess by contributing 26 points, along with 7 rebounds and 3 assists in 38 minutes of play, making him the second-highest scorer in the game. Despite his individual success, the Oklahoma City Thunder fell short against the San Antonio Spurs. Throughout the season, Williams has maintained impressive statistics, averaging 17.5 points, 4.6 rebounds, 5.4 assists, and 1.2 steals per game. His consistent performance on the court has been noteworthy, establishing him as a key player for the team despite the recent loss.

   #2. Argentinian Francisco Caffaro, a 7'1'' center and 26-year-old Broncos alumnus from the class of 2024, made a significant impact in the Spanish LEB Oro Play-Off that year, guiding his team to the final. Currently playing professionally in Argentina, Caffaro recently led Boca Juniors to a thrilling victory against the fourth-ranked Obera with a score of 86-78 in the Argentinian La Liga. In this game, he showcased his prowess on the court by scoring 13 points, pulling down 9 rebounds, and going a perfect 5 for 5 at the free-throw line, all in just 22 minutes of play. As a key player for Boca Juniors Buenos Aires, currently placed eighth in the league standings, Caffaro has been a valuable addition in his first season with the team. His impressive performance against Obera exemplifies his skill set and determination, proving instrumental in securing the win for his team. With notable season averages of 13.1 points per game, 8.4 rebounds per game (ranking fourth best in the league), and 1.2 assists per game, Caffaro has consistently demonstrated his capabilities as a champion on the court.

   #3. Canadian player Jaden Bediako, a 6'10'' center who is 25 years old and graduated from Seton Hall in 2024, showcased his talent in the Mexican Circuito de Baloncesto de la Costa del Pacifico. Bediako, who previously played for Santa Clara between 2019 and 2023 and now competes professionally in Mexico, led Ostioneros de Guaymas to a decisive 106-96 victory against the Caballeros de Culiacan, who had an 18-22 record. Despite Ostioneros de Guaymas being ranked second from the bottom in the league at #10 with a 16-24 record, Bediako's stellar performance propelled them to success. In the game against Culiacan, Bediako delivered a remarkable double-double performance, scoring 15 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Additionally, he contributed 5 assists and 3 blocks in just 28 minutes of play, showcasing his exceptional skills on the court. This outstanding display earned him the Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, further solidifying his reputation as a champion. Bediako's season averages of 9.4 points, 7.1 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and 1.6 blocks per game highlight his all-around contribution to Ostioneros de Guaymas. As a finalist in the league's leader for blocks per game, Bediako's presence on the court has been instrumental in his team's performance throughout the season.

   #4. Canadian Josip Vrankic, a talented 6'9'' center/forward and 27-year-old Broncos alumnus from 2022, currently showcases his skills playing professionally in Spain. Recently, he led Zunder Palencia to a thrilling 83-79 victory over the seventh-ranked Fuenlabrada in the Spanish Primera FEB league, where he was named the MVP of the game. Vrankic displayed an exceptional performance, achieving a double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, maintaining a perfect 5-for-5 from the free-throw line within just 26 minutes of play. This remarkable feat added to his team's success, marking their fifth consecutive triumph and positioning Zunder Palencia at third place in the league standings. His stellar performance against Fuenlabrada, where he scored 17 points, secured 10 rebounds, and provided 2 assists, was instrumental in leading his team to victory and ultimately crowning them as the champion. Vrankic's significant contributions on the court have been consistent throughout the season, with impressive statistics of 12.1 points per game, 4.7 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game. Additionally, he proudly holds Croatian nationality, further adding to his diverse background as a standout player in the Spanish basketball scene.

   #5. Keshawn Justice, a 6'7'' forward who is 26 years old and a graduate of Santa Clara in 2023, currently plays professionally in France. Recently, he made a significant impact by contributing to Cholet Basket's victory over the closely-ranked JSF Nanterre, with a final score of 79-66 in the French Betclic ELITE on Saturday night. In that game, Justice managed to score 5 points and provided 3 assists in just 18 minutes of play. Cholet Basket, currently standing at fifth place in the league with a record of 19-11, secured their third consecutive win with this impressive performance. Justice's individual stats against Nanterre included 5 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists, showcasing his versatility on the court and his ability to contribute in multiple ways. His contributions were crucial in helping his team secure the victory and ultimately emerge as the champion. Despite the Regular Season coming to a close, Justice's impact on the team has been undeniable throughout the season, with averages of 5.9 points per game and 3.2 rebounds per game.

   #6. Canadian Danilo Djuricic, a 6'9'' forward and 27-year-old Broncos alumnus from 2022, received the Eurobasket.com All-European North Basketball League Second Team award that year before starting his professional career in Canada. Recently, Djuricic played a key role in helping the Brampton Honey Badgers emerge as champions in a thrilling 91-72 victory over the Surge in the Canadian Elite Basketball League on Sunday night. Despite scoring only 4 points, Djuricic showcased his versatility by grabbing 4 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists in just 17 minutes of play. His performance was instrumental in securing the victory for his team. In another impressive showing against Calgary, Djuricic once again contributed 4 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists, aiding his team in clinching another important win. His consistent and impactful play on the court has been crucial in leading his team to success. Throughout the season, Djuricic has maintained solid averages of 3.5 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game, showcasing his value as a reliable and well-rounded player for his team.
