We bring you last week's top former Red Raiders players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Kyler Edwards, a 6'4'' guard who graduated from Houston in 2022 and previously played for Texas Tech from 2018 to 2021, is currently playing professionally in Israel. In his first season with H.Gilboa Galil, Edwards recently faced off against the formidable Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Despite an outstanding performance, where he scored 39 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and provided 5 assists in 40 minutes, H.Gilboa Galil fell short and lost the game 88-98 at home.
This defeat marked H.Gilboa Galil's fourth consecutive loss, emphasizing the crucial nature of the remaining two games in the Regular Season. Edwards has been a standout player for his team, showcasing his skills and achieving high statistics throughout the season. With an average of 19.2 points per game (the second-best in the league), along with 4.1 rebounds, 3.4 assists, and 2.0 steals per game (the fourth-best in the league) in the 23 games he has played so far, Edwards has been a key player for his team despite the recent losses.
#2. Jahmi'us Ramsey, a 6'3'' shooting guard who is a 24-year-old Red Raiders alumnus from 2020 and recipient of the All-Big 12 Freshman of the Year award that year, currently plays professionally in Italy. In the recent game, despite his remarkable performance, Ramsey could not prevent Trieste (13-16) from losing 89-94 on their home court to the lower-ranked (#11) Cremona.
Ramsey showcased his skills by leading the scoring with an impressive 30 points and contributing 4 assists in 31 minutes of play. Unfortunately, this defeat marked Trieste's fourth consecutive loss, emphasizing the team's need to turn things around with only three games remaining in the Regular Season. Every upcoming match will now be crucial for the team's playoff hopes.
This season marks Ramsey's first with the Trieste team, and he has consistently delivered exceptional performances. Currently leading the league in scoring with an average of 19.3 points per game, he also maintains averages of 2.2 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over 29 appearances. Despite the team's recent struggles, Ramsey's individual performance has been noteworthy and highlights his talent as a champion player.
#3. De'Vion Harmon, a 6'2'' guard who graduated from Texas Tech in 2023 and received an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention award that year, currently plays professionally in Finland. In a recent game, Harmon showcased his talent and skills, scoring an impressive 37 points, pulling down 5 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in 37 minutes of play. Despite his remarkable performance, his team, Kataja (17-15), fell short and lost 81-90 to Vilpas, the top team in the Places 7-12 group.
Harmon's performance in the game highlighted his capabilities as a top scorer and playmaker, especially considering that he is only in his third season of professional basketball. Throughout the season, Harmon has been a standout player, leading the league with an average of 27.2 points per game. Alongside his scoring prowess, he has also been contributing with 3.9 rebounds, 4.0 assists, and 1.6 steals per game in the 37 games played so far.
Despite the loss in the recent game, Harmon's individual success and stellar performances throughout the season have solidified his status as a champion player in the league, showcasing his potential to continue excelling in the professional basketball arena.
#4. French player Clarence Nadolny, standing at 6'4'' and 25 years old, is a Red Raiders alumni from the class of 2022. He played a crucial role in guiding his team to the final of the Big 12 Tournament in that same year. Currently, Nadolny is playing professionally in France and recently led ES Chalon-Sur-Saone to a dominant victory over the struggling Le Portel team, with a final score of 93-58 in the French Betclic ELITE league game. In this game, he showcased his skills by scoring 14 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, and providing 4 assists in just 20 minutes of play.
ES Chalon-Sur-Saone, with a record of 15-14, currently holds the ninth position in the league standings. Nadolny's team has been on a winning streak, securing their third consecutive victory. With only one more game left in the Regular Season, the upcoming match holds significant importance for the team's playoff aspirations.
Nadolny's impressive performance against Le Portel highlights his abilities as a champion, contributing significantly to his team's success on the court. Throughout this season, he has maintained an average of 7.3 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game across 29 appearances, further solidifying his status as a standout finalist.
#5. Cape Verdean Marcus Santos-Silva, a 28-year-old forward standing at 6'8'' who graduated from Texas Tech in 2022 and received an All-Big 12 Honorable Mention award that year, currently plays professional basketball in the Czech Republic. In a recent game, he led his team, ERA Basketball Nymburk, to a dominant victory over the fifth-ranked Opava with a final score of 116-79 in the Czech Republic Maxa NBL. Santos-Silva showcased his skills by contributing 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 1 assist in just 16 minutes of play.
ERA Basketball Nymburk, with a record of 32-4, holds the top position in the Places 1-8 group, thanks in part to Santos-Silva's exceptional performance. This win marked his team's sixth consecutive victory, highlighting their strong momentum in the league. Santos-Silva's consistent contributions on both ends of the court have been instrumental in his team's success, solidifying his reputation as a champion player.
Throughout this season, Santos-Silva has maintained solid averages of 9.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 1.7 assists, and 1.7 steals per game across 21 appearances. Despite being a naturalized American, he continues to make a significant impact in the Czech Republic basketball scene, demonstrating his talent and leadership as a finalist in the sport.
#6. Experienced champion Robert Turner III, a 6'3'' point guard who is 33 years old and an alumnus of the Red Raiders from 2015, currently plays professionally in Israel. In a thrilling game, Turner III led M.Ashdod to a hard-fought 76-74 victory over the sixth-ranked team, Ashkelon, in the Israeli National League, which is the second division of basketball in Israel. His exceptional performance on Saturday night was crucial in securing the win, and he was rightfully named the MVP of the game.
Turner III showcased his talent by scoring an impressive 28 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and dishing out 3 assists during the intense 38-minute game. His remarkable contributions on both ends of the court were instrumental in guiding his team to victory and ultimately helping them clinch the champion title.
Throughout the season, Turner III has consistently performed at a high level, boasting impressive averages of 23.7 points per game, 4.8 rebounds per game, 5.2 assists per game, and 1.6 steals per game in 33 games. His stellar play has not only elevated his individual performance but has also significantly impacted his team's success as they strive to reach the final and secure the elusive champion title.
#7. Chris Clarke, a 30-year-old forward standing at 6'5'' who graduated from Texas Tech in 2020 and currently plays professionally in Israel, excelled in leading I.Nahariya to a resounding victory over the seventh-ranked E.Shomron with a commanding score of 90-65 in the Israeli National League, which is the second division of basketball in the country. In a Thursday night game, Clarke demonstrated his prowess on the court by achieving a double-double performance, scoring 15 points, securing 10 rebounds, and contributing 8 assists, 2 blocks, and 3 steals in 35 minutes of play.
His remarkable display of skill and versatility against E.Shomron not only contributed significantly to his team's triumph but also underscored his capabilities as a champion. Throughout the season, Clarke has maintained impressive statistics, averaging 12.6 points, 9.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per game across 27 appearances. His consistent performance and leadership qualities have undoubtedly played a crucial role in his team's success, positioning him as a formidable finalist in the league.
#8. Jeffrey Crockett, a 6'7'' forward who is 34 years old and an alumnus of Red Raiders from the class of 2014, currently plays professionally in Cyprus. In a recent game, Crockett, who received the All-Big 12 Third Team award in his college year, unfortunately could not lead his team, Keravnos, to victory. Despite his commendable performance, Keravnos suffered a defeat of 81-86 at the hands of the leading AEK Larnaca on their home court in Nicosia.
During the game, Crockett displayed his skills by scoring 10 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and making 2 blocks in 35 minutes of play. His individual effort was notable, but it was not enough to secure the win for his team. Throughout the season, Crockett has maintained solid statistics, averaging 11.0 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.2 assists, and 1.1 steals per game in 26 appearances.
#9. Warren Washington, a 26-year-old forward standing at 7'0'' and a Texas Tech graduate of 2024, showcased his skills while playing professionally in Lithuania for Lietkabelis. In their recent game against the formidable Zalgiris, despite Washington's commendable performance, Lietkabelis fell short and suffered a significant 87-70 defeat on the road. As the second-best scorer of the team, he contributed 12 points during his 27 minutes on the court.
During the intense matchup with Zalgiris, Washington displayed an impressive performance, scoring 12 points, grabbing 3 rebounds, and providing 1 assist. Despite his notable efforts, Lietkabelis was unable to secure a victory in the game. Throughout this season, Washington has been averaging 7.7 points and 5.1 rebounds per game over the course of seven games.
#10. Bosnia and Herzegovina's John Roberson, a 37-year-old point guard standing at 5'11'' and an alum of the Red Raiders class of 2011, currently plays professionally in France. In a recent game for Hyeres-Toulon, despite Roberson's commendable efforts, the team suffered a 75-81 defeat against the formidable Poitiers, who hold the #5 ranking in the league.
During the match, Roberson showcased his skills by contributing 14 points, 2 rebounds, and 6 assists, making him the second-highest scorer for his team. Additionally, he displayed his proficiency by securing 3 steals and going a perfect 8-for-8 from the free-throw line in his 31 minutes on the court.
Throughout the season, Roberson has maintained impressive individual statistics, averaging 17.7 points per game, which ranks him as the second-best scorer in the league. He also averages 1.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.4 steals per game across 28 appearances.
It is worth noting that Roberson, a naturalized Bosnian, continues to excel on the court, demonstrating his skill and dedication as a champion player in the league.
