Every week we bring you a list of the top former Fighting Irish players who continue their career in pro basketball.



   #1. The seasoned Jerian Grant, a 6'5'' guard at 33 years old who graduated from Notre Dame in 2015 and received the All-ACC All-Tournament MVP award that year, currently showcases his talents playing professionally in Greece. In a recent Euroleague matchup, Grant, representing Panathinaikos with a record of 22-16, faced off against Valencia, who held a superior 25-13 record. Despite Grant's notable performance of 7 points, 4 rebounds, and 10 assists in 31 minutes of play, Panathinaikos suffered a significant 81-64 defeat on Valencia's home court. Grant's statistics for the season reflect his consistent contribution to the team, with averages of 6.9 points, 1.7 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.1 steals per game. Although his individual efforts were commendable in the matchup against Valencia, his team ultimately fell short against the formidable opponent.

   #2. Prentiss Hubb, a 6'3'' guard and Fighting Irish alum from 2022, currently playing professionally in Italy, demonstrated his prowess on the court by leading Tortona to a narrow 78-75 victory over the closely-ranked Umana Venezia in the Italian Serie A on Sunday night. In an intense matchup, Hubb contributed significantly with 12 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists in just 22 minutes of play. This stellar performance exemplified his skills as a champion, propelling his team to triumph in a crucial game. Bertram Yachts Derthona Tortona, currently holding the fifth position in the league with a record of 17-11, is gearing up for the final stretch of the Regular Season, with only three games remaining. Every upcoming game is of utmost importance as teams jostle for playoff berths and positioning. Hubb's consistent performance throughout the season, averaging 11.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game, has been instrumental in Tortona's campaign, solidifying his reputation as a standout player and a key figure in the team's quest for success.

   #3. Experienced champion, Jack Cooley, a 6'9'' center/forward who graduated from Notre Dame in 2013 and received the All-Big East First Team award that year, continues to showcase his skills playing professionally in Japan. Recently, he played a crucial role in the Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa's victory over the SeaHorses, the second-ranked team in the Japanese B1 League, with a score of 82-79 on Saturday night. In this highly anticipated matchup between two top 3 ranked teams in group West, Cooley displayed his prowess on the court by achieving a double-double with 13 points and 14 rebounds, along with 3 assists, all in 34 minutes of play. This standout performance not only contributed to his team's win but also earned him the admiration of fans and experts alike. This season marks Cooley's seventh with the Ryukyu Golden Kings Okinawa, where he has been consistently delivering impressive performances.    #4. Tim Abromaitis, a 6'8'' forward and former Fighting Irish alum from 2012, who was honored with the All-Big East Scholar-Athlete of the Year award, currently plays professionally in Spain. Despite his efforts, Abromaitis, a finalist, could not lead La Laguna Tenerife to victory against Unicaja in the Basketball Champions League. In the recent match, he contributed 4 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 assists in 29 minutes of play. La Laguna Tenerife, the league champion, suffered an 85-80 defeat on the road against Unicaja. This marks Abromaitis' fourth season with the team, where he maintains an average of 5.4 points per game and 4.5 rebounds per game.

   #5. Lithuanian Martinas Geben, a 31-year-old center standing at 6'10'' who graduated from Notre Dame in 2018, currently plays professionally in Spain. In a recent match, Geben, playing for Basquet Girona, faced off against BAXI Manresa in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Despite his commendable effort of scoring 7 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in 23 minutes of play, Basquet Girona was unable to secure a victory against the higher-ranked BAXI Manresa, ultimately losing 79-74 in Manresa. The defeat highlights the competitive nature of the league, with only three games remaining in the Regular Season, making each upcoming game crucial for teams vying for playoff contention.    #6. Bonzie Colson Jr., a 6'6'' forward and former Fighting Irish alum from 2018, is currently playing professionally in Turkey. Despite only contributing one point in 9 minutes on the court, he played a critical role in helping Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul secure a 94-90 victory over the closely-ranked Zalgiris in the Euroleague on Friday night. Colson's decisive point proved to be a turning point in the game, ultimately leading his team to success. Throughout the season, he has been averaging 7.3 points per game and 3.0 rebounds per game, showcasing his value as a key player for his team.

   #7. Matthew Zona, a 6'9'' forward who is 24 years old, graduated from Fordham in 2025. He previously played basketball for Notre Dame from 2020 to 2024 and currently competes professionally in the United Kingdom. In a recent British Super League Basketball game, Zona led Cheshire Phoenix to a thrilling 123-117 victory over the closely-ranked Manchester team on a Sunday night. During the game, Zona showcased his skills by contributing 11 points, 3 rebounds, and 1 assist in just 16 minutes of play. His remarkable performance on the court was instrumental in securing the win for his team, further solidifying his reputation as a champion. Throughout the season, Zona has maintained an average of 6.5 points per game and 3.1 rebounds per game. It is worth noting that Zona is a naturalized Irish player, adding to his diverse background and international basketball experience.

   #8. Marcus Hammond, a 25-year-old 6'3'' guard and Fighting Irish alum from the class of 2023, displayed his prowess on the basketball court as he led Union Poitiers Basket 86 to a narrow 81-79 victory against the 11th-ranked Aix-Maurienne in the French ELITE 2 league. Hammond's standout performance included scoring 16 points, grabbing 2 rebounds, and distributing 7 assists in 29 minutes of play. His remarkable contribution was crucial in securing the victory, highlighting his skills as a finalist player. Throughout the season, Hammond has consistently delivered impressive performances, averaging 15.4 points, 3.8 rebounds, and 3.8 assists per game. His stellar play on the court exemplifies his capabilities as a champion player in the league.
