We bring you last week's top former Red Raiders players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. In a recent game, the talented champion Rayman, a 6'8'' small forward aged 29, who graduated from Colgate in 2020 and earned the prestigious All-Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year award, showcased his skills while playing professionally in Israel. He led Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv to a resounding victory over the 11th-ranked Kiryat Ata team, with a convincing scoreline of 102-77 in the Israeli Winner League. Rayman's stellar performance earned him the title of MVP of the game, as he contributed 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 3 assists in just 21 minutes of play.
Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv, currently holding the top spot in the league with an impressive record of 21 wins and 1 loss, achieved their 16th consecutive victory under Rayman's leadership. With only four games remaining in the Regular Season, each match becomes crucial for the team's standings. Rayman's noteworthy statistics this season include averaging 6.4 points and 4.5 rebounds per game in the 22 games he has played so far.
It is also noteworthy that Rayman holds both American and Israeli citizenship, allowing him to play in Israel as a domestic player, further enhancing his contributions to Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv's success as they strive to become the ultimate champion.
#2. Keegan Records, a 26-year-old center standing at 6'10'' and an alumnus of the Red Raiders from 2024, is currently playing professionally in Hungary. Notably, during a recent game, he contributed significantly to Szedeak's victory against the sixth-ranked Kormend with a score of 90-82 in the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnoksag I/A. Records displayed an impressive performance, achieving a double-double with 10 points and 12 rebounds, along with 4 blocks, all in 37 minutes of gameplay.
Szedeak Szegedis, where Records currently plays, secured the third position in the Play-Out group. This marks Records' debut season with the team, and his impact has been notable. His remarkable display on the court against Kormend was pivotal in ensuring his team emerged as the champion. Throughout the season, Records has maintained strong statistics, averaging 12.5 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game across 29 games.
Records' consistent contributions and standout performances exemplify his dedication and skill on the court, showcasing his potential to continue making significant strides in his basketball career.
#3. Portuguese Francisco Amiel, a 30-year-old guard standing at 6'2'' and a graduate of Colgate in 2019, played a pivotal role in helping his team to win the Patriot League Regular Season Co-Champion title in that same year. Currently playing professionally in Spain, he recently made a significant impact for Bueno Arenas Albacete Basket in a crucial game against the third-ranked Iraurgi SB. Despite only scoring 3 points in 11 minutes, his contribution was vital as his team emerged victorious with a dominating 80-60 win in the Spanish Segunda FEB league, which is the third division of Spanish basketball.
The game, which took place on a Sunday night, was a highly anticipated matchup between two top 3 ranked teams in group East. Amiel's Bueno Arenas Albacete Basket, with a record of 19-7, holds the second position in the standings. His decisive 3-point shot against Iraurgi SB proved to be the turning point, securing the victory for his team and propelling them towards the ultimate goal of becoming the champions of the league.
Throughout this year, Amiel has maintained an average of 3.9 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.5 assists per game across 26 appearances. His consistent contributions on the court demonstrate his value as a player and his ability to make crucial plays when it matters most, ultimately helping his team to achieve success and be crowned as the champions.
