University of Southern Indiana has selected 21-year-old Bosnian 6-2 guard Afan Trnka for the new season. The Sarajevo native previously played for University of Tennessee at Martin for the last two years. In 29 games last season, he averaged 6.5ppg, 2.8rpg, 2.4apg, and 1.0spg. Trnka played a key role in helping his team reach the OVC Tournament Semifinals in 2026.
He played at BS Spars Sarajevo U19 team between 2021-22, Sportska Akademija Spars Sarajevo during 2021-22, and then at Eastern Florida State College during 2023-24. Trnka helped his team make it to the Bosnian A1 Liga Semifinals in 2022. He was also voted to Eurobasket.com All-ABA U19 League First Team and Eurobasket.com All-FIBA U18 European Championship Division B Second Team that year. His team won FCSAA Citrus Conference Regular Season Co-Championship in 2024. Trnka helped his team make it to the NJCAA D1 FCSAA State Semifinals and FCSAA DI/NJCAA D1 South Atlantic District Semifinals that year.
