Here is the weekly review of the top performing Golden Flashes alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Miryne Thomas, a 6'8'' forward who is 26 years old and graduated from Kent St. in 2023 after helping them win the MAC Tournament that year, currently plays professionally in Georgia. In a recent game, he was unable to prevent Batumi (14-6) from losing 70-76 at home to the top-ranked Kutaisi team. Despite the loss, Thomas delivered an impressive performance, showcasing his skills on the court. He secured a double-double with 22 points and 15 rebounds, while also contributing 3 assists and 2 blocks in 35 minutes of play. This exceptional showing is even more remarkable considering that Thomas is only in his third season of professional basketball. His standout performance in the game against Kutaisi earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com. Throughout the season, Thomas has been excelling individually, putting up impressive statistics. He holds averages of 21.3 points per game (the second-best in the league), 12.0 rebounds per game (leading the league), along with 3.6 assists per game and 1.4 steals per game in the 26 games he has played so far. Thomas continues to demonstrate his prowess on the court, establishing himself as a standout player in the league.

   #2. Jimmy Hall, a 6'8'' power forward and 32-year-old alumni of the Golden Flashes from 2017, has been making waves in Israel's pro basketball scene. Currently playing for Maccabi Ashdod, he recently showcased his skills in a game against Ashkelon, leading his team to a resounding 91-73 victory in the Israeli National League (second division). In this game, Hall proved himself as a standout player by recording 22 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals in 37 minutes of play, earning him the title of MVP. With this stellar performance, Hall demonstrated his prowess on the court and reinforced his reputation as a champion. Maccabi Ashdod, currently placed fifth in the Play-Off group with a record of 20-10, greatly benefited from Hall's impressive contributions. Throughout the season, Hall has maintained solid statistics, averaging 14.7 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game in the 10 games he has played so far.    #3. Marquis Barnett, a 6'4'' guard who graduated from Kent St. in 2025 and currently plays professionally in Israel, recently displayed his skills on the court for Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva. Despite his impressive performance, scoring 13 points, grabbing 9 rebounds, and dishing out 2 assists in 30 minutes, his team suffered a crushing 105-68 defeat on the road against the lower-ranked Ironi Nes-Ziona, ranked #10 in the league. This loss marked Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva's fourth consecutive defeat, emphasizing the team's struggle in the season. With only three games remaining in the Regular Season, every upcoming game will be crucial for the team's standing. Throughout the season, Barnett has maintained relatively good statistics, averaging 11.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game in the five games played so far. Despite the challenges faced by his team, Barnett continues to showcase his talent and determination on the court as a standout player for Hapoel Altshuler Shaham Beer Sheva.

   #4. Experienced U.S. Virgin Islands guard Deon Edwin, standing at 6'4'' and 33 years old, is a Golden Flashes alumni from 2017 where he helped them become champions of the MAC Tournament that year. Currently playing professionally in Hungary, Edwin recently played for Atomeromu (17-9) in their latest game. Despite his commendable performance, the seventh-placed Atomeromu (17-9) suffered an 82-87 loss on their home court in Paks to the fifth-ranked Szolnok in the Play-Off group. During the game, Edwin was the second-highest scorer with 15 points and also contributed 4 assists in 30 minutes of play. This season marks Edwin's first with the team, and he has maintained solid statistics, averaging 13.9 points, 4.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists, and 1.1 steals per game over 30 appearances. In the recent match against Szolnok, Edwin showcased his skills by scoring 15 points, securing 2 rebounds, and distributing 4 assists. Despite his notable performance, his team was unable to secure a victory, falling short to their opponents.

   #5. Carlton Guyton, a 6'3'' guard who graduated from Kent St. in 2012 and received an All-MAC Honorable Mention award, currently plays professionally in Uruguay. In a recent game, Guyton showcased his skills by contributing 12 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists in 41 minutes of play. Despite his solid performance, his team Malvin, who currently holds the fourth position with a record of 18-14, suffered a close 92-90 loss to the sixth-ranked Defensor in a crucial matchup within the top-ranked group. In a recent game, Carry was unable to lead KK Cedevita Junior Zagreb (12-21) to victory as they suffered a tough 87-70 defeat against the higher-ranked (#3) team, Split, on their home court. Despite his noteworthy performance, where he scored 13 points, grabbed 7 rebounds, and provided 4 assists in 37 minutes of play, Carry's efforts were not enough to secure a win for Cedevita Jr. He displayed an impressive performance on the court, showcasing his skills with 13 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists against Split, yet his team ultimately fell short in the match. Throughout the season, Carry has maintained solid statistics with an average of 13.8 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, and 5.1 assists per game in the 11 games he has played so far. His consistent contributions on the court demonstrate his capabilities as a champion player in the league.

   #7. Puerto Rican Giovanni Santiago, a 6'1'' guard who is 26 years old and graduated from Kent St. in 2024, made a notable impact during the MAC Tournament that year by guiding his team to the final. Currently playing professionally in Puerto Rico, Santiago recently played a pivotal role in Osos de Manati's triumph over the second-ranked Criollos with a score of 94-89 in a recent Puerto Rican Baloncesto Superior Nacional match. In his impressive performance, Santiago managed to score 10 points in 31 minutes of gameplay. Currently playing professionally in Australia, Payton recently made a significant impact in a game for the Kilsyth Cobras in the Australian NBL One, the second division of Australian basketball. In a recent match against the 17th-ranked Northern Force, Payton's performance was exceptional. He scored 18 points, secured 9 rebounds, and provided 5 assists in just 16 minutes of play. His remarkable contributions were instrumental in Kilsyth Cobras' victory over Northern Force with a score of 97-87. Payton's outstanding display on the court not only demonstrated his skills but also played a key role in his team emerging as the champion of the game. Throughout this year, Payton has maintained solid statistics, averaging 12.4 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game in the nine games he has played. His consistent performance and valuable contributions make him a standout player in the league and a key player for his team's success.

   #9. Danny Pippen, a 6'9'' forward who graduated from Kent State in 2021 and received the All-MAC First Team award that year, is currently playing professionally in Australia. In a recent game, despite his notable performance, Pippen couldn't prevent the tenth-placed Goldfields Giants from losing 103-107 to the Redbacks, who are ranked eighth in the West group. Pippen showcased his skills by scoring 18 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and providing 3 assists in just 19 minutes of play. In another game against Perth Redbacks, Pippen once again displayed his talent by contributing 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists. Despite his outstanding individual efforts, his team was unable to secure the victory on that occasion. Throughout the season, Pippen has maintained impressive statistics, averaging 22.0 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 2.9 assists per game over the course of seven games.
