Here is the weekly review of the top performing Pilots alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Canadian Kennedy Dickie, a 6'0'' forward who graduated from Portland in 2024 and received the All-WCC All-Tournament MVP award that year, currently plays professionally in Australia. In a recent game, she helped lead the Eltham Wildcats to a 92-82 victory over the 13th-ranked Spectres in the Australian NBL One North, the second division of the league. Despite scoring only 4 points in 16 minutes of play, Dickie made a significant impact on the game.
The Eltham Wildcats, with a record of 8-2, hold the second position in the South group standings. In a game against Nunawading S., Dickie scored 4 points and grabbed 2 rebounds, making a valuable contribution to her team's success. Her performance on the court was pivotal in securing the win and ultimately led her team to be crowned champion.
So far this year, Dickie has been averaging 5.4 points per game and 3.9 rebounds per game in the seven games she has played.
#2. Australian champion Keeley Frawley, a 25-year-old forward standing at 6'0'' and an alumna of the Broncos from 2024, previously played in Portland between 2019 and 2023, where she notably helped them secure victory in the WCC Tournament. Frawley currently plays professionally in Australia and recently faced the aforementioned Kennedy Dickie in the Australian NBL One North.
In the latest game, Frawley unfortunately could not lead the Nunawading Spectres (4-6) to a win. Despite her impressive performance, the 13th-placed Nunawading Spectres suffered an 82-92 loss on the road to the second-ranked Wildcats in the South group. Frawley emerged as the team's second-best scorer, contributing 17 points and 3 assists in 28 minutes of play. This noteworthy performance is particularly commendable as Frawley is only in her second season of professional basketball. Regrettably, this defeat marked Nunawading Spectres' sixth consecutive loss.
In a game against Eltham W, Frawley displayed another strong performance by tallying 17 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. Despite her exceptional efforts, her team fell short of securing a victory in that match. Throughout this season, Frawley has been averaging 9.0 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game in the seven games she has participated in so far.
#3. New Zealand's Emme Shearer, a 6'0'' guard at 24 years old, graduated from Portland in 2025 and was instrumental in helping them clinch the New Zealand League Champion title in that year. She currently plays professionally in Australia. In a recent game, Shearer's team, the 11th-placed Kilsyth Lady Cobras with a record of 4-5, suffered a significant 98-80 defeat against the much lower-ranked (#18) Northern Force in the South group.
Despite a commendable performance by Shearer, where she emerged as the second-highest scorer with 16 points and contributed 5 rebounds in just 23 minutes, Kilsyth Lady Cobras experienced their fifth consecutive loss. This game showcased Shearer's skills in her first professional basketball season, where she demonstrated her potential with solid statistics. Throughout the season, she has maintained an average of 12.1 points, 6.2 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game over nine appearances.
In the match against the Northern Force, Shearer displayed an impressive performance by scoring 16 points and securing 5 rebounds. Despite her individual efforts, she was unable to lead her team to victory, resulting in another loss for the Kilsyth Lady Cobras.
#4. Australian Lucy Cochrane, a 6'6'' forward at 25 years old and a Pilots alumna from 2024, made a significant impact by helping her team win the WCC Tournament that year. Currently playing professionally in Australia, she showcased her skills by leading the Sandringham Sabres to a dominant victory over the fourth-ranked Cavaliers, with a final score of 85-63 in the Australian NBL One North league, which is the second division of the competition.
In the recent game, Cochrane displayed an impressive performance, achieving a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds. Additionally, she contributed 4 assists and 2 blocks during her 34 minutes on the court. The Sandringham Sabres, now holding a record of 8-1, sit comfortably at the top of the South group standings after securing their sixth consecutive win.
Despite this being Cochrane's first season with the team, she has quickly proven her worth with remarkable statistics, averaging 8.3 points, 6.7 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and 2.0 blocks per game, which ranks her as the third-best shot blocker in the league. Her stellar performance against Casey C. further solidified her status as a champion, leading her team to victory with her exceptional skills on the court.
#5. Trista Hull, a standout player who previously helped Portland to win the WCC Regular Season Co-Champion title in 2025, now plays professionally in Australia. In her debut game for Kalamunda Eastern Suns, Hull faced a tough challenge against the Eagles in the Australian NBL One North league, which is the second division in Australia. Despite her impressive performance of scoring 7 points and grabbing 9 rebounds in just 16 minutes of play, Kalamunda Eastern Suns suffered a significant defeat of 85-66 at the hands of the Eagles, who are currently ranked second in the West group. This loss marked the third consecutive defeat for the struggling Kalamunda Eastern Suns, who are currently placed 12th in the league standings. Hull showcased her skills on the court, but unfortunately, her efforts were not enough to lead her team to victory against East Perth Eagles.
#6. Australian Emma Strelein, a 5'11'' guard and Pilots alumna from 2025, was instrumental in helping her team to win the WCC Regular Season Co-Champion title that year. Currently playing professionally in Australia, she is a teammate of the previously mentioned Trista Hull, with whom she recently played in the last Australian NBL One North game. Strelein, unfortunately, could not lead the Kalamunda Eastern Suns to victory against the Eagles, despite scoring 6 points and grabbing 6 rebounds in 22 minutes of play. Her team suffered a significant 19-point defeat, with a final score of 85-66.
In a commendable performance against East Perth Eagles, Strelein showcased her skills by contributing 6 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. However, despite her noteworthy efforts, her team was unable to secure a win in the game. Strelein has been showcasing solid statistics this season, averaging 10.4 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 2.4 steals per game in the eight games she has played so far.
