Here is the weekly review of the top performing Knights alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Grant Singleton, a 25-year-old point guard standing at 6'0'' and a graduate of FDU in 2023, currently plays professional basketball in Bulgaria. In a recent game, he led Lokomotiv Plovdiv to a resounding 86-67 victory over the closely-ranked team Botev, with Singleton being named the MVP of the game. Despite only being in his third season in professional basketball, Singleton showcased an impressive performance by scoring 20 points, securing 4 rebounds, and providing 4 assists in just 26 minutes of play. This victory marked Lokomotiv Plovdiv's fourth consecutive win, with the team currently placed fourth in the league standings.
Singleton's exceptional skills and contributions on the court have been evident throughout the season, with an average of 16.3 points, 3.6 rebounds, 5.9 assists, and 1.2 steals per game in the 22 games he has played so far. This standout performance against Botev solidified Singleton's impact as a key player for Lokomotiv Plovdiv, ultimately leading his team to victory as the champion of the game.
#2. Darnell Edge, a 6'2'' point guard and 28-year-old Knights alumni from 2019, currently plays professionally in Poland. Despite his impressive individual performance, he was unable to help Dziki Warszawa (18-12) in their recent game against Zastal, where they suffered a tough 105-86 defeat on the road. Edge contributed 14 points and 3 assists in 24 minutes of play during the game.
This loss marked Dziki Warszawa's first defeat after a string of five consecutive victories, as the Regular Season had already concluded. Edge has been having a standout year, averaging 15.8 points, 3.5 rebounds, and 4.2 assists per game over the course of 13 games. Although he put up an impressive performance against Zastal, his efforts were not enough to secure the much-needed victory for his team.
#3. Elyjah Williams, a 6'7'' forward who is 27 years old and a graduate of Northwestern University in 2022, previously played for FDU from 2017 to 2021 where he received the All-NEC Third Team award in his final year. Currently, he is playing professionally in Japan and recently showcased his skills as a key player for Yokohama Excellence. In a thrilling game against the Orange Vikings, the second-ranked team, Williams was instrumental in leading his team to a 95-83 victory.
During the game, Williams displayed his versatility and talent on the court by achieving a double-double with 16 points, 12 rebounds, and 8 assists in just 29 minutes of play. This exceptional performance not only contributed to his team's win but also highlighted his capabilities as a standout player. The match was highly anticipated as it featured two of the top 3 teams in the East group, with Yokohama Excellence currently holding the third position with a record of 39-21.
This victory marked Yokohama Excellence's sixth consecutive win, showcasing the team's strong form and determination. Williams' remarkable display against Ehime OV earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, cementing his reputation as a champion player on the court. Throughout the season, Williams has maintained impressive statistics, averaging 14.8 points, 8.6 rebounds, and 4.4 assists per game in 54 appearances.
#4. Ahmed Barba-Bey, a 6'3'' guard and Knights alumnus from 2025, currently playing professionally in Australia, showcased his talent as a key player in the Sydney City Comets' recent triumph over the 15th-ranked Spiders, with a resounding 92-69 victory in the Australian NBL One, the second division league. In this game held on a Saturday night, Barba-Bey's performance was outstanding, contributing 16 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, and 3 steals in just 24 minutes of play. It is noteworthy that this impressive display came in his debut season in professional basketball.
The Sydney City Comets, with a current record of 4-4, hold the eighth position in the East group standings. Barba-Bey's remarkable 16-point performance, along with 4 rebounds and 3 assists against the HKBA Spiders, played a crucial role in securing the victory for his team. This solid performance on the court further cements his reputation as a true champion.
Individually, Barba-Bey is having a standout season, boasting high statistics with an average of 17.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.6 steals per game across eight games. His consistent contributions and impressive stats highlight his potential as a future finalist in the league.
#5. Experienced Czech Republic champion, Kamil Svrdlik, who stands at an impressive 6'9'' and is a 39-year-old center, graduated from FDU in 2011 and currently plays professionally in the Czech Republic. In a recent game on Friday night, Svrdlik played a crucial role in helping BK KVIS Pardubice secure a 78-74 victory against the sixth-ranked Srsni Pisek, who had an 18-18 record. In his 11th season with the team, Svrdlik showcased his prowess by scoring 5 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 22 minutes of play.
BK KVIS Pardubice, with a record of 27-9, holds the second position in the Places 1-8 group, with Svrdlik's consistent performance contributing significantly to the team's success. Throughout this season, the champion player has been averaging 5.4 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game in the 40 games he has played. Svrdlik's dedication, skills, and valuable contributions on the court truly exemplify his status as a finalist player in the league.
#6. Ansley Almonor, a 24-year-old 6'7'' forward and Wildcats alumnus from 2025, previously played for FDU between 2021 and 2024 where he received the All-NEC First Team award. He currently plays professionally in Finland. In a recent game, Almonor's team, Vilpas, faced off against Kataja in a closely contested match but could not secure the win. Despite his valiant efforts, Almonor managed to score 5 points, grab 7 rebounds, and provide 1 assist in 33 minutes of play. Unfortunately, Vilpas ended up losing the game with a final score of 70-75.
Throughout the season, Almonor has maintained solid statistics, averaging 12.7 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game across 46 games. His consistent performance on the court showcases his skills and dedication as a professional basketball player.
#7. Malik Miller, a 6'9'' forward who is 30 years old and a graduate of FDU in 2018, currently plays professionally in Australia. In the recent game between the Wyndham Devils (1-4) and the Hume City Broncos, despite Miller's exceptional performance, the bottom-ranked Wyndham team suffered a crushing defeat of 116-60 against the higher-ranked (#7) Broncos in Tullamarine. As the top scorer of the game, Miller contributed 16 points and 8 rebounds in 34 minutes of play, showcasing his talent on the court. Despite his impressive individual performance, Wyndham could not secure a victory.
Throughout the season, Miller has maintained high statistics, averaging 21.2 points per game and 5.0 rebounds per game across five games. His consistent performance highlights his skills and contribution to the team, even in challenging matchups against stronger opponents like the Hume City Broncos.
#8. Demetre Roberts, a 26-year-old point guard standing at 5'8'' and a Knights alumni from 2023, currently plays professionally in Israel. In a recent game, despite his notable performance as the top scorer with 16 points and contributing 3 assists in 26 minutes, his team Ramat Hasharon, ranked eighth, suffered a significant defeat of 107-87 against the third-ranked I. Nahariya in the Play-Off group.
Roberts showcased his skill and talent by not only scoring 16 points but also securing 3 rebounds and providing 3 assists in the challenging game against I. Nahariya. Despite his impressive individual performance, Ramat Hasharon could not secure the much-needed victory.
Throughout the season, Roberts has maintained high statistics, averaging 19.0 points per game, 2.1 rebounds per game, 7.5 assists per game (the third best in the league), and 1.1 steals per game across 32 games. His consistent performance highlights him as a key player in the league, showcasing his prowess as a champion player.
