We bring you last week's top former Red Raiders players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Ryan Moffatt, a 25-year-old guard/forward standing at 6'6'' who graduated from Colgate in 2024 after helping them win the Patriot League Regular Season Champion title, is currently playing professionally in the Czech Republic. Recently, he led Pardubice to a significant victory over the sixth-ranked Srsni Pisek with a score of 99-81 in the Czech Republic Maxa NBL. In this game, he was named the MVP, showcasing his exceptional skills on the court.
Despite being only in his second season in professional basketball, Moffatt delivered an outstanding performance by scoring 22 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in 33 minutes of play. This remarkable double-double performance highlights his talent and potential as a finalist. Currently, his team, BK KVIS Pardubice, holds the second position in the Places 1-8 group standings with a record of 27-9, with Moffatt contributing significantly to their success in his first year with the team.
Moffatt's consistent performance throughout the season is evident in his averages of 9.9 points per game, 4.9 rebounds per game, 1.9 assists per game, and 1.7 steals per game. His dedication and skills on the court truly exemplify him as a champion player.
#2. Rayman, a standout at 6'8'' and 29 years old, who previously played for the Red Raiders and received the All-Patriot League Defensive Player of the Year award in 2020, is currently showcasing his skills in professional basketball in Israel. In a recent game, he played a crucial role in guiding Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv to a significant victory over the 12th-ranked E.Netanya with a score of 102-92 in the Israeli Winner League. Despite scoring just 4 points in 15 minutes on the court, Rayman's contribution was instrumental in his team's triumph.
Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv, leading the league with an impressive record of 20-1, secured their 15th consecutive win, thanks in part to Rayman's efforts on both ends of the court. Rayman's versatility was evident as he not only scored points but also grabbed a crucial rebound during the game, ultimately helping his team emerge as the champion.
Throughout the season, Rayman has been averaging 5.8 points per game and 4.3 rebounds per game, showcasing his consistent performance and value to the team. It is noteworthy that Rayman holds dual American and Israeli citizenship, allowing him to compete in Israel as a domestic player and further contribute to the success of Maccabi Playtika Tel-Aviv.
#3. Keegan Records, a 6'10'' center who graduated from Colgate in 2024 and helped them secure the Patriot League Regular Season Champion title that year, has been making waves in professional basketball in Hungary. Playing for Szedeak, he played a crucial role in their recent victory over the second-ranked OSE Lions with a score of 95-79 in the Hungarian Nemzeti Bajnoksag I/A. Despite it only being his second season in professional basketball, Records showed his skills by scoring 17 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and playing for 32 minutes.
The game between Szedeak and OSE Lions was highly anticipated, as both teams were in the top 3 rankings in the group Play-Out. Szedeak Szegedis ultimately secured the third position in the league. Records showcased an outstanding performance against the OSE Lions, contributing 17 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists, leading his team to victory as the champion.
Records has been maintaining good statistics this season, with an average of 12.7 points per game, 6.7 rebounds per game, and 1.5 assists per game. His impressive performance on the court reflects his dedication and talent as a champion player in the making.
#4. Portuguese Francisco Amiel, a 6'2'' guard and 30-year-old Red Raiders alumnus from 2019, played a crucial role in helping his team become the Patriot League Regular Season Co-Champion that year. Currently playing professionally in Spain, he is a key player for Bueno Arenas Albacete Basket. In a recent game, his team emerged victorious against the eighth-ranked Ponferrada with a score of 80-75 in the Spanish Segunda FEB (third division) on Sunday night.
Despite scoring only 2 points in 7 minutes on the court, Amiel's contribution was significant. Bueno Arenas Albacete Basket, with a season record of 19-7, holds the second position in the East group standings. Amiel's performance against Ponferrada, where he scored 2 points and provided 1 assist, was instrumental in securing the win for his team, showcasing his skills and determination as a finalist on the court.
Throughout the season, Amiel has maintained an average of 4.0 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, demonstrating his consistency and value to his team.
