Every week we bring you a list of the top former Gaels players who continue their career in pro basketball.



   #1. Experienced Australian Patty Mills, a 6'2'' guard who is 37 years old and graduated from SMC in 2009, currently plays professionally in Spain. In a recent game last Saturday, despite his strong performance, Mills could not prevent his team, La Laguna Tenerife (17-12), from a narrow 90-89 loss on the road against MoraBanc Andorra (#17), one of the league's weaker teams. Mills showcased his skills by scoring 16 points in 26 minutes, making him the second-highest scorer in the game. His impressive performance against Andorra included not only his scoring but also contributing with 1 rebound and 1 assist. Although Mills has been having an outstanding season individually, averaging 18.0 points per game and 1.3 assists, his efforts were not enough to secure a victory for his team in this particular matchup.

   #2. Lithuanian champion Augustas Marciulionis, a 6'4'' guard and 24-year-old Gaels alumnus from 2025, who received the prestigious All-WCC Player of the Year award that year, currently plays professionally in Lithuania. In a recent game, Marciulionis, despite his strong performance, could not lead Rytas (19-11) to victory. The team suffered a crushing 96-71 defeat at the hands of the lower-ranked Lietkabelis (#5) in Panevezys last Sunday. Marciulionis showcased his skills by scoring 10 points, grabbing 8 rebounds, and dishing out 6 assists in just 26 minutes of play. With only four games remaining in the Regular Season, each upcoming game becomes increasingly crucial for the team. Despite Marciulionis' impressive contributions of 10 points, 8 rebounds, and 6 assists against Lietkabelis, his team faced a challenging loss. Throughout the season, Marciulionis has maintained solid statistics, averaging 12.3 points per game, 3.6 rebounds per game, 4.8 assists per game, and 1.1 steals per game.

   #3. Luke Barrett, a 6'6'' guard/forward who is 24 years old and a Saint Mary's College graduate, played a crucial role in helping his team secure the WCC Regular Season Champion title in 2025. Currently playing professionally in Poland for AMW Arka Gdynia, Barrett showcased his talent in a recent game against the 13th-ranked Start, where his team emerged victorious with a convincing 101-80 scoreline. In this game, Barrett displayed his prowess on the court by scoring 19 points, grabbing 5 rebounds, and providing 2 assists in just 25 minutes of play. This remarkable performance is particularly noteworthy as it is Barrett's debut season in professional basketball. The win contributed to AMW Arka Gdynia's solid standing in the league, currently placed sixth with a record of 18-11. As the Regular Season nears its end, Barrett's impact will be pivotal in the upcoming critical game for his team. Despite it being his first year with the team, Barrett has already proven himself as a valuable asset with an average of 8.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists per game this season. His exceptional skills and contributions on the court truly exemplify him as a champion.

   #4. Latvian basketball player Kristers Zoriks, a 6'4'' point guard aged 27 and an alumnus of Gaels since 2020 where he helped them reach the final of the WCC Tournament, currently shines in the professional league in Turkey. Recently, he led his team, Yukatel Merkezefendi Belediyesi Basket Denizli, to a decisive victory over Buyukcekmece, the league's underdog with a record of 4-25, with a score of 98-87 in the Turkish ING Basketbol Super Ligi on Sunday night. In this game, Zoriks demonstrated his prowess by scoring 18 points and contributing 5 assists during his 30 minutes on the court. Currently, his team holds the ninth position in the league with a record of 12-17, having only one more game left in the Regular Season, making the upcoming match a crucial one. Against Buyukcekmece, Zoriks showcased an outstanding performance with 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 5 assists, leading his team to a well-deserved victory. His consistent contributions on the court throughout the season, with an average of 12.8 points, 1.6 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game, highlight his remarkable skills and unwavering determination, portraying him as a true champion in the world of basketball.

   #5. Tommy Kuhse, a 6'2'' guard who recently graduated from SMC in 2022 and received the All-WCC Sixth Man of the Year award, is currently playing professionally in Germany. In a recent game, Kuhse played for Rasta Vechta but unfortunately, they were unable to overcome Bayern Muenchen in the German easyCredit BBL. Despite his best efforts, Kuhse contributed 7 points in just 14 minutes of play. The game ended with Bayern narrowly defeating Rasta Vechta by a score of 90-88, marking Rasta Vechta's first loss after a streak of four consecutive victories. With only two games remaining in the Regular Season, each upcoming match will be crucial for the team. This season marks Kuhse's debut with Rasta Vechta, and he showcased a strong performance against Bayern by scoring 7 points, grabbing 2 rebounds, and providing 2 assists. Despite the loss, Kuhse has maintained solid statistics throughout the season, averaging 13.0 points per game, along with 2.6 rebounds and 3.6 assists.

   #6. Australian champion Alexander Mudronja, a 6'5'' guard and 26-year-old Gaels alumnus from 2019, played a crucial role in helping his team clinch the WCC Tournament victory that year. Currently playing professionally in Australia, Mudronja recently proved to be a standout player in a surprising win for the Mount Gambier Pioneers against the leading Raiders, with a final score of 111-108 in the Australian NBL One (second division) on Saturday night. In this game, he showcased his skills by recording 22 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in just 24 minutes of play. His remarkable performance not only contributed to his team's success but also played a vital role in leading them to victory as the finalist. Throughout the season, Mudronja has maintained impressive individual stats, averaging 19.0 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game.

   #7. Stephen Holt, a 6'4'' shooting guard who is 34 years old and graduated from SMC in 2014, is currently playing professionally in the Philippines. Despite his efforts, Holt, a NABC Division I All-District 9 Second Team awardee in 2014, was unable to lead Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Kings to victory against the Bolts. In the game, he contributed 8 points and 2 rebounds in 26 minutes of play, but his team suffered a 21-point loss with a final score of 112-91. Throughout the season, Holt has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.4 points, 4.9 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. It is noteworthy that Holt holds both American and Filipino citizenship, allowing him to play in the Philippines as a domestic player, showcasing his versatility and value to the team.

   #8. British champion Aaron Menzies, a 7'3'' center and 29-year-old Gaels alumnus from 2020, currently playing professionally in the United Kingdom, showcased his skills by leading Jelson Homes DMU Leicester Riders to a 97-87 victory against the closely-ranked Sharks in the British Super League Basketball on Sunday night. Despite playing only 17 minutes, Menzies managed to score 13 points, grab 7 rebounds, and make 2 blocks. His standout performance against the Sheffield Sharks included crucial points, solid rebounding, and 1 assist, all of which were instrumental in securing the win for his team. Menzies' consistent contributions have been key to the team's success this season, with an average of 5.8 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game. Notably, Menzies has a background as a former Eurobasket Summer League player, a prestigious platform for basketball players aspiring to compete professionally overseas.

   #9. Estonian Matthias Tass, a 6'10'' forward/center aged 27, who graduated from SMC in 2022 and received the All-WCC First Team award that year, currently plays professionally in Poland. Recently, he played a key role in Legia Warszawa's victory over the ninth-ranked MKS with a score of 90-85 in the Polish Orlen Basket Liga on Friday night. Despite scoring only 2 points and grabbing 4 rebounds in 20 minutes of play, Tass made a significant contribution to the team. In another game against MKS DG, he scored 2 points, grabbed 4 rebounds, and provided 1 assist, aiding his team in securing the win and becoming the champion of the game. Throughout the season, Tass has maintained an average of 5.8 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game, showcasing his versatility and valuable presence on the court.

   #10. Australian Kyle Bowen, a 25-year-old forward standing at 6'8'' and an alum of Gaels from 2023, played a pivotal role in his team's success by helping them clinch the WCC Regular Season Co-Champion title that year. Currently, he is showcasing his skills as a professional player in Australia. Recently, he stood out as a key player in the Sandringham Sabres' impressive victory over the 14th-ranked Pioneers, with a final score of 112-99 in the Australian NBL One, which is the second division league. Bowen's exceptional performance included a double-double as he scored 23 points, secured 10 rebounds, and provided 5 assists in just 30 minutes of play. In another game against Mt. Gambier, Bowen demonstrated his versatility and talent by once again scoring 23 points, grabbing 10 rebounds, and distributing 5 assists, all of which were instrumental in leading his team to success. His consistency and impact on the court have been crucial in securing victories and establishing himself as a true champion in the sport. Throughout the season, Bowen has maintained impressive individual statistics, boasting an average of 15.9 points per game, 9.0 rebounds per game, 2.5 assists per game, and 1.5 steals per game, further solidifying his reputation as a standout player and a force to be reckoned with in the league.
