We bring you last week's top former Governors players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

#1. Me'Kell Burries, a 26-year-old guard standing at 6'3'' who graduated from Austin Peay in 2025, is currently playing professionally in Chile. In a recent game, despite his exceptional performance, Burries could not help his team, Castro, who is currently in sixth place with a 2-6 record. Castro suffered a tough 98-75 loss on the road against the third-ranked CD Espanol Osorno in the Sur group. Burries showcased his talent by scoring 19 points and providing 4 assists in 37 minutes of play, making him the second-highest scorer in the game. This remarkable performance is particularly noteworthy as Burries is in his rookie season in professional basketball. Although Castro did not secure the victory, Burries' individual contributions did not go unnoticed. Throughout the Regular Season, Burries has consistently delivered strong performances, maintaining impressive averages of 22.9 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.1 assists per game across the eight games he has played so far. Despite the team's challenges, Burries has emerged as a standout player, showcasing his skills and potential on the court.

#2. DeMarcus Sharp, a 6'3'' guard and 27-year-old Governors alum from 2024, currently playing professionally in Bulgaria, showcased his skills in the recent game for Akademik Plovdiv. Despite his outstanding performance, Akademik Plovdiv faced a tough 73-86 loss to the top-ranked Rilski team in Samokov. Sharp proved to be a key player for his team, emerging as the second-highest scorer with 19 points alongside 4 rebounds, 6 assists, and 3 steals in 38 minutes on the court. This remarkable display of talent is particularly impressive considering that Sharp is only in his second season of professional basketball. Unfortunately, this defeat marked Akademik Plovdiv's fourth consecutive loss, bringing an end to their regular season. Sharp, in his first year with the team, has been a consistent performer throughout the season, averaging 14.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, 5.1 assists, and 1.4 steals per game across 15 games. Despite the team's recent struggles, Sharp's contributions on the court have not gone unnoticed, solidifying his position as a key player for Akademik Plovdiv.

#3. Sevon Witt, a 26-year-old 6'8'' forward who graduated from Austin Peay in 2025, showcased his skills in the recent game but could not prevent Iskra Svit (15-21) from falling to a 86-99 defeat at home against the higher-ranked (#3) Slovan. Despite the loss, Witt emerged as the top scorer for Iskra Svit, contributing 22 points in just 22 minutes of play. This season marks Witt's debut with the team, and he has been demonstrating consistent performance, averaging 14.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game in 34 appearances. In the match against Slovan, Witt delivered an impressive performance, scoring 22 points and securing 3 rebounds, showcasing his talent and determination on the court as he strives to help his team achieve success in the league.

#4. Isaac Haney, a 23-year-old 6'2'' guard and Governors alumnus from 2025, currently plays professionally in Spain. In a recent game, despite his efforts, he was unable to help Valladolid (17-9) secure a victory. The team suffered a crushing 102-75 defeat at the hands of the lower-ranked (#6) Lliria in the West group, where Haney contributed 10 points in 25 minutes of play. Even though Haney displayed an impressive performance against Lliria, scoring 10 points and grabbing 3 rebounds, his team, Valladolid, ultimately lost the game. Throughout the season, Haney has maintained solid statistics, averaging 14.3 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over 26 appearances.

#5. Venezuelan point guard Carlos Paez, a 26-year-old standing at 5'11'', graduated from SE Louisiana in 2025 after playing for Austin Peay from 2019 to 2023. He received the CSC NCAA Division I Academic All-District Team award during his time at Austin Peay. Currently playing professionally in Venezuela, Paez recently showcased his skills in a game where his team Brillantes faced off against the higher-ranked (#3) Spartans in a derby match. Despite Paez's impressive performance of 11 points, 4 rebounds, and 4 assists in 27 minutes, Brillantes unfortunately suffered a close 84-88 loss to the Spartans. This defeat marked Brillantes' third consecutive loss. Throughout the season, Paez has maintained solid statistics, averaging 10.6 points, 2.8 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game over 15 games. In a standout performance on Saturday night, Black was named the MVP of the game after contributing 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 1 assist in just 23 minutes of play. With an impressive season average of 12.7 points, 2.9 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 1.2 steals per game over 25 appearances, Black has consistently demonstrated his value on the court. His recent stellar display against Castello not only secured a crucial win for his team but also reaffirmed his reputation as a true champion.
