We bring you last week's top former Roadrunners players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Dedrick Basile, a 5'10'' point guard who is 31 years old and graduated from CSUB in 2017 after helping them win the WAC Regular Season Champion that year, currently plays professionally in Iceland. In a recent game, Basile, despite his very good performance, could not lead Tindastoll to victory as they were narrowly defeated 96-95 at home by Stjarnan, a lower-ranked team. Despite the loss, Basile stood out as the top scorer with 28 points, along with contributing 6 rebounds and 6 assists in 33 minutes on the court.
With an impressive stat line of 28 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists against Stjarnan, Basile demonstrated his skills as a champion player. Throughout the season, he has maintained high statistics, averaging 18.6 points per game, 5.3 rebounds per game, 7.1 assists per game (ranking fourth best in the league), and 1.8 steals per game. Despite his individual success, Basile's team fell short in the game, emphasizing the importance of teamwork in achieving success in basketball.
#2. Justin Edler-Davis, a 6'4'' guard/forward and former Roadrunners alumnus from 2022, showcased his skills playing professionally in Greece but was unable to lead his team, Iraklis (8-15), to victory in their recent game last Saturday. Despite his commendable effort, Iraklis suffered a close 76-72 defeat in a crucial matchup against the higher-ranked PAOK (#4) in a derby game.
Edler-Davis emerged as the standout performer of the game, finishing as the top scorer with 12 points while also contributing 7 rebounds in 29 minutes of play. This marked an impressive display by Edler-Davis, especially considering it was his first season with the team.
As the Regular Season nears its end, Edler-Davis and his team have just one more game remaining, which holds significant importance for their standings. Throughout the season, Edler-Davis has maintained solid averages of 10.0 points per game, 4.4 rebounds per game, and 1.1 steals per game, showcasing his value to the team despite the challenging results.
#3. Experienced champion Tyrone White, a 6'7'' guard aged 35 who graduated from CSUB in 2013 and played a pivotal role in helping them secure the Independent Champion title that year, currently plays professionally in Venezuela. In a recent game, he was a standout performer for Guaiqueries, leading them to a resounding 98-67 victory over the closely-ranked Trotamundos (13-7) in the Venezuelan Superliga Profesional de Baloncesto on Sunday night. White showcased his skills by scoring 20 points, making 3 assists, and playing for 33 minutes. This win marked Guaiqueries de Margarita's third consecutive victory, positioning them at fifth place in the league standings.
White's impressive performance against Trotamundos included not only his 20-point contribution but also 2 rebounds and 3 assists, ultimately aiding his team in clinching the champion title for the game. Throughout the season, White has maintained solid statistics with an average of 13.8 points per game, along with 2.8 rebounds and 1.8 assists.
#4. In a recent game, the Nigerian player Fidelis Okereke, standing at 6'6'' and playing as a forward/center, showcased his skills and talent by leading Vitre to a remarkable victory over Andrezieux in the French Nationale Masculine 1 league. Despite it being his first season in professional basketball, Okereke's performance was outstanding as he contributed 16 points and secured 6 rebounds in just 20 minutes of play. This exceptional display earned him the title of MVP of the game, highlighting his impact on the court.
Playing for Aurore de Vitre, currently ranked seventh in Group B with a record of 15-19, Okereke's contribution has been pivotal as the team heads towards the final stages of the season. With only four games remaining, each match becomes increasingly crucial, making Okereke's consistent performance even more significant for his team's success.
In a recent matchup against SCABB, Okereke once again demonstrated his skill and determination by scoring 16 points and grabbing 6 rebounds, ultimately leading his team to victory. His ability to rise to the occasion and make decisive plays under pressure showcases his potential as a champion player on the court.
Throughout the season, Okereke has maintained solid statistics with an average of 12.4 points, 5.7 rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.5 steals per game, further solidifying his role as a key player for his team. Despite being a naturalized Nigerian, Okereke's performance transcends borders and exemplifies his dedication to excelling in the sport of basketball.
#5. In a thrilling match on Saturday night, the DR Congolese champion, Gloire Goma, showcased his prowess on the court, leading Zentro Basket to a resounding 102-82 victory over the 12th-ranked Telde in the Spanish Tercera FEB league. Standing tall at 6'5'', the 22-year-old standout, who graduated from CSUB in 2025, is making waves in his debut professional basketball season in Spain.
Goma's stellar performance earned him the title of MVP of the game as he recorded a remarkable double-double, scoring 22 points and securing 15 rebounds. Not stopping there, he also contributed 4 steals in just 27 minutes of play, highlighting his defensive prowess. It is truly impressive to see such a standout performance from Goma, especially as he navigates his first season in the professional basketball scene.
Zentro San Jorge Basket Madrid, where Goma plays, currently holds the second position in Group B-B, with an impressive record of 19-7. Their recent victory marked their sixth consecutive win, propelling them towards the final stages of the season. With only one more game left in the Regular Season, the upcoming match holds significant importance for the team's standing and aspirations.
Goma's remarkable display against Telde not only contributed to the team's victory but also earned him the prestigious Triple-Double Badge from eurobasket.com, solidifying his status as a finalist in the making. His season statistics reflect his impact on the court, averaging 12.9 points, 9.7 rebounds, 1.1 assists, and 1.2 steals per game, showcasing his versatility and contribution to the team's success.
#6. Travis Henson, a 6'7'' small forward and 27-year-old alum of Roadrunners from 2023, displayed his prowess as a champion by leading SBB Baskets Wolmirstedt to a 77-70 victory over Leverkusen, one of the German BARMER 2. Basketball Bundesliga ProA's weaker teams. In a standout performance on Sunday night, Henson scored 11 points in just 17 minutes of play, showcasing his skills on the court. His impressive contributions included 11 points scored, 1 rebound grabbed, and 1 assist dished out, all of which were instrumental in his team's triumph.
Throughout the season, Henson has maintained solid statistics, averaging 13.9 points per game and 2.7 rebounds per game. Such consistent performance highlights his capabilities as a finalist and underscores his importance to the team's success.
