French basketball champion Lauryn Vieira, a 24-year-old point guard standing at 5'3'' who graduated from Eckerd in 2024 and received the WBCA NCAA Division II All-Americans Team award that year, currently plays professionally in France. In a recent game, she was unable to lead Champagne (15-11) to victory against La Tronche, as her team suffered a 91-80 defeat on the road. Despite her stellar performance, scoring 24 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, providing 5 assists, and recording 5 steals in 31 minutes, Champagne fell short against the top-ranked La Tronche. Despite her individual achievements, Vieira's primary goal remains leading her team to success as they strive for a competitive edge in the league.
