Here is the weekly review of the top performing Dukes alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Kamiah Smalls (5'10''-G-1998, played in 2016-20, plays pro in Turkey) led her Turkish team Galatasaray to a victory over the closely-ranked Schio (2-2) 72-61 in the Euroleague in Wednesday night's game.
She was MVP of the game. Smalls recorded 17 points and added 3 passes in 28 minutes.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Galatasaray Cagdas Factoring Istanbul (4-0) is placed first in the Euroleague.
So far her team won all four games in the Regular Season.
There are only two games left until the end of the Euroleague Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Smalls' first season with the team.
She has relatively good stats this year 11.0ppg, 4.5rpg and 4.3apg in six games she played so far.
#2. Kiyana McGill-Jefferson (6'1''-G-2001, played in 2019-23, plays in Puerto Rico) was the major contributor in a 2-point Atenienses de Manati's victory against the league leader Cangrejeras (14-4) 78-76 in the Puerto Rican BSNF last Monday.
She scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only McGill-Jefferson's second season in pro basketball. Atenienses de Manati (8-26) is placed sixth in the BSNF.
It was her team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
It's McGill-Jefferson's first year with the team.
She has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg, 6.8rpg, 1.3apg and 1.2spg.
