EuroBasket Pro Coyotes Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Coyotes players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Tasos Kamateros (6'8''-F-2000, played in 2019-23, plays pro in Greece) could not help Lavrio (2-4) in their last game. Despite his good performance Lavrio was edged90-88 at home by the higher-ranked (#8) Papagou. Kamateros recorded 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 16 minutes. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen. It's Kamateros' first year with the team. This season he averages 5.8ppg and 2.5rpg in six games he played so far.

   #2. Felix Brostrom (6'8''-F-2003, played in 2022-24, plays in Sweden) was not able to help BC Lulea in their game against Norrkoping (5-2) in the Swedish Basketligan. Brostrom did not impress in that game on Saturday. He scored only 3 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. BC Lulea was crushed113-82 on the road by the lower-ranked Norrkoping (#4). It was BC Lulea's first loss after four consecutive victories. But the season just started, so everything may happen. Brostrom has relatively good stats this year 10.1ppg, 6.5rpg and 1.6apg.

   #3. Mihai-Nicolae Carcoana (6'11''-F-2002, played in 2022-23, currently in Romania) was not able to secure a victory for the league outsider Targu Jiu (0-6) in their game against Rapid (3-1) in the Romanian Liga Nationala, despite his good performance last Saturday. He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in only 13 minutes. But Targu Jiu was badly defeated88-72 on their home court in Rovinari by the much higher-ranked (#3) Rapid. So far Targu Jiu lost all six games in the Regular Season. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Carcoana's first season with the team. This year Carcoana averages 4.5ppg and 2.8rpg in four games.

   #4. Jay Harvey (6'9''-F-1996, played in 2018-19, plays pro in Albania) couldn't help Fieri (10-10) in their game against Kamza (3-1) in the Albanian Superliga. He recorded 8 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. Fieri was defeated 74-63 on their home court in Durres by the lower-ranked Kamza (#5). Harvey's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial. It's Harvey's first season with the team. This year he averages 4.8ppg and 9.3rpg.

   #5. Rich Polanco (6'8''-F-1997, played in 2019-19, plays in Dominican Republic) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Puerto Plata (1-3) in their game against LDC Ignite (3-3) in the Dominican Rep. LDC (fourth division), despite his very good performance last Saturday. He had a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 10 rebounds. Polanco also added 7 assists and 2 blocks in 33 minutes. But Puerto Plata was edged87-86 on their home court in Puerto Plata by the higher-ranked (#3) LDC Ignite. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen. Polanco has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 17.5ppg, 8.5rpg, 6.5apg, 1.3bpg and 1.3spg in four games.

   #6. Nikola Zizic (6'11''-F-2000, played in 2020-22, currently in Spain) led Sant Antoni to a 1-point victory against the fifth-ranked Albacete 99-98 in the Spanish Segunda FEB (third division) on Saturday night. Zizic recorded 13 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Zizic averages 8.0ppg and 3.8rpg.

   #7. AJ Plitzuweit (6'2''-G-1999, played in 2023-24, plays pro in Spain) contributed to a 3-point LBC Cocinas' victory against the 12th-ranked Gijon Circulo 89-86 in the Spanish Segunda FEB (third division) in Saturday night's game. He recorded 9 points and added 5 passes in 29 minutes. Plitzuweit has relatively good stats this year 12.8ppg, 3.5rpg and 2.5apg in four games.
