Here is the weekly review of the top performing Hoosiers alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Sara Scalia (5'10''-SG-2001, played in 2022-24, plays pro in France) led Lyon to a victory over the closely-ranked Landerneau (2-3) 86-79 in the French LFB on Saturday night.
She was MVP of the game. Scalia scored 22 points and added 4 assists in 37 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only her second season in pro basketball. Lyon ASVEL Feminin (2-4) is placed tenth in the LFB.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
It's Scalia's first year with the team.
Scalia has relatively good stats this season 12.2ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.2apg.
She is a naturalized Italian.
#2. Aleksa Gulbe (6'3''-F-2000, played in 2018-22, plays in France) is a teammate of previously mentioned Sara Scalia and both played together in the last French LFB game.
Gulbe contributed to Lyon's victory against the closely-ranked Landerneau (2-3) 86-79.
She scored 14 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists.
It's Gulbe's first season with the team.
Gulbe has relatively good stats this year 14.2ppg, 5.6rpg and 1.8apg in five games she played so far.
#3. Mackenzie Holmes (6'3''-F-2001, played in 2019-24, currently in Australia), who plays in the Australian WNBL could not help Geelong United (22-0) in their game last Saturday. Despite her very good performance the league leader Geelong United was edged77-76 on the road by the leading Perth Lynx.
Holmes recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 16 rebounds. She also added 3 assists and 2 blocks in 38 minutes.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
It's Holmes' first year with the team.
Holmes has individually a very good season with high stats. She averages 26.3ppg, 11.3rpg, 1.5apg and 2.0bpg.

Han-Byul Kim (5'10''-G/F-1986, played in 2005-09) played for NS Matrix in Malaysian MWBL
