EuroBasket Pro Highlanders Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Highlanders players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Jacob Mansson (6'7''-F-2002, played in 2021-22, plays pro in Norway) led Froya to a victory over one of league's weakest teams Asker Aliens (1-6) crushing them 110-59 in the Norwegian BLNO in Sunday night's game.
He was MVP of the game. Mansson scored 28 points (!!!), made 6 passes and 4 steals in 30 minutes.
Froya Basket Laksevag (6-2) is placed second in the BLNO.
It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
It's Mansson's first year with the team.
He has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg, 4.3rpg, 2.4apg and 2.4spg in eight games he played so far.
#2. Kevin Osawe (6'7''-SF-1999, played in 2022-23, plays in Germany) could not help Gartenzaun24 Baskets Paderborn (1-2) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Osawe's very good performance Gartenzaun24 Baskets Paderborn was crushed85-54 on the road by the higher-ranked Artland Dragons (#5).
He was the top scorer with 22 points. Osawe also added 9 rebounds.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
It's Osawe's first year with the team.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Osawe averages 22.0ppg, 8.0rpg and 2.5apg.
He has also Canadian citizenship.
#3. Elijah Buchanan (6'5''-G-1999, played in 2023-24, currently in Georgia), who plays in the Georgian Superleague was not able to help Rustavi (9-1) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Rustavi lost 80-84 in Tbilisi to the lower-ranked (#3) TSU.
Buchanan had a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 30 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Buchanan's second season in pro basketball. But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Buchanan has relatively good stats this year 15.0ppg, 8.5rpg and 5.0apg in two games.
Worth to mention Buchanan played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.
#4. Adam Hess (6'5''-G, played in 2022-24, plays pro in Chile) was not able to secure a victory for Boston College (1-9) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Hess' very good performance the sixth-placed Boston College (1-9) was edged77-74 at home by the higher-ranked Puente Alto (#4) in the Centro group.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 17 points and getting 12 rebounds.
Hess' team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
It's Hess' first season with the team.
This year he has very high stats. Hess averages 15.5ppg, 7.3rpg and 2.0apg.
#5. Zach Cooks (5'9''-PG-1999, played in 2017-21, plays in Germany) managed to help Telekom Baskets Bonn in a victory against the 12th-ranked Rasta Vechta (2-2) 76-70 in the German BBL last Saturday.
Cooks scored only 2 points in 12 minutes.
Telekom Baskets Bonn (3-2) is placed seventh in the BBL.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
This year Cooks averages 3.5ppg, 1.3rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3spg in four games.
#6. Kjell De Graaf (6'10''-F-1999, played in 2018-24, currently in Holland), who plays in Holland couldn't help the league outsider BAL Weert (0-6) in their last game on Saturday. Despite De Graaf's good performance BAL Weert was crushed88-64 on the opponent's court by the leading Oostende.
He was the second best scorer with 12 points.
De Graaf has relatively good stats this season 11.0ppg and 1.4rpg.
#7. Rob Ukawuba (6'3''-G-1994, played in 2013-17, plays pro in Spain) couldn't help Benicarlo (3-2) in their last game. Despite his good performance the sixth-placed Benicarlo was crushed108-86 on the opponent's court by the second-ranked Huesca in the East group.
Ukawuba recorded 11 points in only a mere 13 minutes.
This year Ukawuba averages 8.6ppg and 1.8rpg in five games.
He is a naturalized Nigerian.
#8. Diego Willis (6'4''-G-1999, played in 2018-21, plays in Mexico) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Diablos 99-80 in the Mexican LNBP (second division) last Sunday.
He recorded 9 points.
This season Willis averages 4.6ppg and 1.5rpg.
