Here is the weekly review of the top performing Owls alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Maria Myklebust (6'1''-F-2003, played in 2023-25, plays pro in Italy) could not help Viterbo (15-7) in their last game. Despite her very good performance the third-placed Viterbo (15-7) lost 52-66 on the road to the lower-ranked (#4) Salerno in the Group A.
Myklebust was the top scorer with 16 points. She also added 7 rebounds in 37 minutes. It was her first game for Viterbo this season; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Myklebust's first season in pro basketball. But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
#2. Lotta Vehka-Aho (5'7''-F-2000, played in 2019-21, plays in Finland) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Marsky Helsinki (1-1) crushing them 83-48 in the Finnish Korisliiga last Friday.
Vehka-Aho scored 7 points.
Kotka Peli-Karhut (2-0) is placed second in the Korisliiga.
But the season just started, so everything may happen.
This year Vehka-Aho averages 7.0ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.0apg.
#3. Astou Gaye (6'2''-PF-1998, played in 2019-21, currently in France) was not able to help Le Havre in their game against Champagne (2-0) in the French LF2 (second division).
She scored 6 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 29 minutes. It was her first game for Le Havre this season.
Le Havre lost 49-64 in Reims to the much higher-ranked (#3) Champagne.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
It's Gaye's first year with the team.
#4. Marta Garcia (6'3''-F-2002, played in 2021-21, plays pro in Spain) led AzulMarino to a victory over the eighth-ranked Celta Zorka (1-1) 70-51 in the Spanish LF Challenge (second division) in Saturday night's game.
Garcia was MVP of the game. She scored 14 points and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Azul Marino Sant Josep Palma de Mallorca (2-0) is placed second in the LF Challenge.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
It's Garcia's first year with the team.
Garcia has relatively good stats this season 10.5ppg and 7.5rpg.
#5. Sofia Galeron (6'2''-F-1999, played in 2019-23, plays in Spain) contributed to an easy victory against the 24th-ranked Paterna (0-1) 93-77 in the Spanish LF Challenge (second division) last Saturday.
She scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 17 minutes.
Unicaja Mijas Malaga (2-0) is placed fifth in the LF Challenge.
But the season is still in its first stage and everything can happen.
Galeron has relatively good stats this year 11.5ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.5apg in two games she played so far.
