Every week we bring you a list of the top former Islanders players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Ross Williams (5'10''-G-2000, played in 2022-23, plays pro in Switzerland) was the major contributor in Fribourg's victory against the closely-ranked Massagno (11-13) 90-78 in the Swiss SBL on Saturday night.
He scored 16 points in 27 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Williams' second season in pro basketball. Fribourg Olympic (3-1) is placed second in the SBL.
It was his team's 19th consecutive victory in a row.
It's Williams' first year with the team.
He has individually a very good season with high stats. Williams averages 15.5ppg, 3.7rpg, 2.7apg and 1.2spg.
#2. Rashawn Thomas (6'8''-F-1994, played in 2013-17, plays in Italy) could not help Sassari (5-15) in their last game. Despite Thomas' good performance Sassari was badly defeated92-76 on the road by the higher-ranked (#6) Trieste.
He scored 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds.
It was Sassari's fifth consecutive loss in a row.
The Regular Season already ended.
Thomas has relatively good stats this year 13.8ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.5apg in eight games he played so far.
#3. Dayne Prim (6'6''-F-2001, played in 2023-24, currently in Switzerland) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Pully in their game against Geneve (21-3) in the Swiss SBL. It was not his best game last Saturday.
Prim scored only 2 points in 15 minutes.
Pully were badly defeated93-76 at home by the second-ranked Geneve.
It was Pully's third consecutive loss in a row.
It's Prim's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year 11.6ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2spg.
Prim is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
#4. Experienced Bryce Douvier (6'7''-F-1991, played in 2013-13, plays pro in Italy) was not able to secure a victory for Livorno Libertas (13-25) in their game against Vigevano (13-25) in the Italian Serie A2 (second division).
He recorded 6 points and grabbed 14 rebounds. It was his first game for Livorno Libertas this season.
Livorno Libertas lost 72-79 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#18) Vigevano.
Douvier's team will play only one more game in the Play-Out Round. And that game will be critical.
It's Douvier's first year with the team.
He is a naturalized Austrian.
