EuroBasket Pro Friars Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Friars players who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Bryce Cotton (6'0''-G-1992, played in 2010-14, plays pro in Australia) led Perth Wildcats to a victory over the league outsider Taipans (3-13) crushing them 128-92 in the Australian NBL in Saturday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Cotton scored 44 points (!!!) and added 6 passes in 35 minutes. Perth Wildcats (7-3) are placed second in the NBL. It's Cotton's seventh season with the team. He has individually a very good year with high stats. Cotton averages 27.8ppg, 3.2rpg and 3.8apg in 13 games he played so far.

   #2. Nate Watson (6'10''-C-1998, played in 2017-22, plays in Greece) was the main contributor in Karditsas' victory against the tenth-ranked Aris Midea (4-6) crushing them 96-69 in the Greek GBL last Saturday. Watson was MVP of the game. He recorded a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 14 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Watson's third season in pro basketball. AS Karditsa Iaponiki (6-4) is placed fourth in the GBL. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. It's Watson's first year with the team. This season he has very high stats. Watson averages 15.7ppg, 7.9rpg and 1.3bpg.

   #3. Kalif Young (6'9''-C-1997, played in 2016-20, currently in Romania), who plays in Romania could not help one of league's weakest teams Oradea (1-1) in their last game. Despite Young's good performance Oradea lost 68-73 on the road to the leading PAOK. He had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting 16 rebounds. Young also added 3 assists in 29 minutes. There are only four games left until the end of the FIBA Europe Cup Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Young's first season with the team. This year he averages 8.1ppg, 6.0rpg and 1.4apg in eight games.

   #4. Emmitt Holt (6'7''-F-1996, played in 2016-17, plays pro in Uruguay) was the major contributor in Aguada's victory against one of league's weakest teams Trouville (2-7) 83-65 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB in Tuesday night's game. Holt scored 16 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Atletico Aguada Montevideo (7-2) is placed third in the LUB. The Regular Season already ended. This season Holt has very high stats. He averages 15.2ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.1bpg.

   #5. Noah Horchler (6'9''-PF-1998, played in 2019-19, plays in Greece) is a teammate of previously mentioned Nate Watson and both played together in the last Greek GBL game. Horchler contributed to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Aris Midea (4-6) crushing them 96-69. He recorded 14 points in 21 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Horchler's third season in pro basketball. It's Horchler's first year with the team. This season he averages 9.0ppg and 6.6rpg in 10 games. Horchler is a naturalized British.

   #6. Kris Dunn (6'3''-SG-1994, played in 2012-16, currently in the NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Utah Jazz crushing them 144-107 in the NBA on Monday night. Dunn scored 12 points and added 4 assists. This season he averages 6.8ppg, 3.6rpg, 2.6apg and 1.7spg.

   #7. Ben Bentil (6'9''-PF-1995, played in 2014-16, plays pro in Italy) was not able to help Napoli (1-3) in their last game. Despite Bentil's good performance Napoli lost 84-97 on the opponent's court to the lower-ranked (#3) Brescia. He was the second best scorer with 14 points. Bentil also added 4 rebounds in 23 minutes. He has very impressive stats this year 17.8ppg, 5.7rpg and 1.2apg in six games. Bentil is a naturalized Ghanian.

   #8. Aljami Durham (6'4''-G-1998, played in 2021-22, plays in Spain) was not able to secure a victory for Basquet Girona in their game against Coruna in the Spanish Liga Endesa. Durham scored 9 points and added 4 assists. His team was badly defeated by 17 points 98-81. He has relatively good stats this season 11.8ppg, 1.5rpg and 2.4apg.

   #9. Ed Croswell (6'8''-F-1999, played in 2023-23, currently in Lithuania), who plays in the Lithuanian LKL couldn't help Nevezis (2-10) in their last game. Despite his good performance the bottom-ranked Nevezis was badly defeated89-69 in Vilnius by the second-ranked Rytas. Croswell was the second best scorer with 11 points. He also added 5 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 29 minutes. This year Croswell averages 9.5ppg and 6.0rpg in two games.

   #10. Clifton Moore (6'10''-C-1999, played in 2023-23, plays pro in France) couldn't help Stade Rochelais Basket in their game against SIG Strasbourg in the French Betclic ELITE ProA. Despite his good performance in Friday night's game Moore was the second best scorer with 11 points. He has relatively good stats this season 10.8ppg and 3.2rpg.
