We bring you last week's top former Cougars players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Experienced Taylor Rochestie (6'1''-PG-85, graduated '09, plays pro in China) led Anhui Wenyi to a victory over the eighth-ranked Wuhan (5-9) 121-102 in the Chinese NBL (second division) in Friday night's game.
He was MVP of the game. Rochestie had a double-double by scoring 45 points and making 11 passes in 42 minutes.
Anhui Wenyi (11-4) is placed third in the NBL.
It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row.
Rochestie has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 26.4ppg, 5.4rpg, 8.3apg and 1.5spg in 14 games he played so far.
Rochestie is a naturalized Montenegrin.
#2. Thomas Abercrombie (6'6''-F-87, graduated '08, plays in New Zealand) was the main contributor in a Wellington Saints' victory against the closely-ranked Rams (11-3) 84-80 in the New Zealand NBL last Sunday.
Abercrombie was MVP of the game. He scored 22 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Wellington Saints (15-0) are placed first in the NBL.
So far his team won all fifteen games in the Regular Season.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Abercrombie has relatively good stats this season 14.2ppg, 5.4rpg, 1.6apg and 1.2spg.
#3. Dexter Kernich-Drew (6'6''-G-91, graduated '15, currently in Australia), who plays in the Australian State League (second division) could not help Dandenong Rangers (10-5) in their last game. Despite his good performance the fifth-placed Dandenong Rangers (10-5) lost 82-94 on the road to the lower-ranked (#11) Frankston Blues in the NBL1 group.
Kernich-Drew had a double-double by scoring 10 points and getting the same number of rebounds in 31 minutes.
It was Dandenong Rangers' fourth consecutive loss in a row.
Kernich-Drew has relatively good stats this year 14.9ppg, 2.7rpg and 1.6apg in nine games.
#4. DeAngelo Hamilton (6'8''-F/C-90, graduated '11, plays pro in Vietnam) contributed to a 1-point Can Tho CF's victory against the closely-ranked Saigon Heat (3-2) 84-83 in the Vietnamese VBA in Thursday night's game.
He was MVP of the game. Hamilton recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 3 assists.
It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Can Tho Catfish (2-3) is placed fourth in the VBA.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
This year Hamilton has very high stats. He averages 19.0ppg, 15.0rpg, 2.5apg and 2.0spg.
