Here is the weekly review of the top performing Islanders alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Rashawn Thomas (6'8''-F-94, graduated '17, plays pro in Italy) could not help one of league's weakest teams Banco di Srd (18-12) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Banco di Srd lost 65-78 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Umana Venezia.
Thomas had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 10 rebounds in 30 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Thomas has relatively good stats this year 14.1ppg, 7.2rpg and 2.0apg in 43 games he played so far.
#2. Experienced Chris Daniels (6'9''-C-84, graduated '08, plays in Philippines) was not able to help Alaska Aces (4-4) in their last game on Friday. Despite Daniels' very good performance Alaska Aces were defeated 119-107 at home by the lower-ranked SM Beermen (#9).
He recorded a double-double by scoring 23 points and getting 22 rebounds.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Daniels has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 20.6ppg, 13.7rpg, 2.1apg and 1.9bpg.
#3. Hameed Ali (6'2''-G-93, graduated '16, currently in Mexico) was the major contributor in an Ostioneros de Guaymas' surprising victory against the league leader Rayos de Hermosillo (23-11) 86-83 in the Mexican CIBACOPA on Monday night.
He scored 24 points, grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 4 assists in 36 minutes; not bad, considering it's only Ali's third season in pro basketball. Ostioneros de Guaymas (13-21) is located at the very bottom in the CIBACOPA.
Ali has very impressive stats this year 16.7ppg, 4.3rpg, 5.2apg and 2.1spg in 33 games.
#4. Emmanuel Toney (6'2''-G-94, graduated '19, plays pro in the Eurobasket Summer League) was not able to secure a victory for the Team Paris (2-1) in their game against the Team Zurich (0-2) in the Eurobasket Summer League.
