EuroBasket Pro Broncos Weekly Update

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Broncos alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Novar Gadson (6'7''-F-89, graduated '12, plays pro in Argentina) could not help Comunicaciones (23-15) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Comunicaciones was edged 97-95 at home by the much lower-ranked (#13) Libertad Sunchales. Gadson was the top scorer with 32 points. He also added 6 rebounds, 3 assists and made 2 blocks in 40 minutes. Gadson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 15.2ppg, 4.6rpg and 3.0apg in 36 games he played so far.

   #2. Ryan Thompson (6'6''-F-88, graduated '10, plays in Germany) contributed to a Ratiopharm Ulm's victory against the closely-ranked SC Rasta Vechta (24-10) 98-94 in the German BBL last Sunday. He recorded 9 points and added 6 passes. Ratiopharm Ulm (20-14) is placed sixth in the BBL. There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. This season Thompson averages 9.4ppg, 2.9rpg and 2.0apg.

   #3. Brandon Penn (6'8''-F-90, graduated '12, currently in North Macedonia), who plays in the North Macedonian Prva Liga was not able to help Blokotehna (20-8) in their last game. Despite Penn's very good performance the third-placed Blokotehna (20-8) lost 75-90 on their home court in Gevgelija to the leading MZT Skopje in the Places 1-6 group. He was the second best scorer with 16 points. Penn also added 5 rebounds and 5 assists in 34 minutes. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. Penn has relatively good stats this year 13.4ppg, 4.8rpg, 2.1apg and 1.9spg in 20 games.

   #4. Matt Lopez (7'0''-C-92, graduated '15, plays pro in Puerto Rico) was not able to secure a victory for Leones de Ponce (14-12) in their last game on Friday. Despite Lopez's good performance Leones de Ponce was badly defeated 96-80 on the road by the lower-ranked Atleticos (#7). He scored 11 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. This season Lopez averages 3.6ppg and 2.6rpg. He is a naturalized Puerto Rican.

Norville Carey (6'7''-F-93) plays for Union Poitiers Basket 86 in French ProB
Mario Porter (6'6''-F-80) played for Pfastatt in French NM2 last year
Jonathan McClark (6'8''-F-77) played for Vichy JA 2 in French NM3 last year
Stephen Castleberry (7'0''-C-81) played for St. Pete Tide in the FBA last year
Anthony Myles (6'5''-G-92) played for Kitchener-Waterloo Titans in the NBL Canada last year
