EuroBasket Pro Buffaloes Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Buffaloes players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. Askia Booker (6'1''-G-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Spain) led Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB to a surprising victory over the eighth-ranked Joventut (16-15) 94-86 in the Spanish Liga Endesa on Thursday night. He was MVP of the game. Booker recorded 27 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists in 32 minutes. Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB (10-21) is placed 15th in the Liga Endesa. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Booker's first season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 14.5ppg, 2.4rpg and 2.5apg. Booker is a naturalized Swiss.

   #2. Thomas Akyazili (6'2''-PG-97, graduated '17, plays in Belgium) contributed to a Telenet Giants Antwerp's victory against the sixth-ranked Limburg United (14-20) 95-83 in the Belgian Euromillions League in Friday night's game. Akyazili scored 9 points, made 3 passes and 3 steals. Telenet Giants Antwerp (27-6) is placed first in the Euromillions League. It was his team's seventh consecutive victory in a row. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. This year Akyazili averages 3.9ppg, 1.7rpg and 2.5apg in 27 games he played so far.

   #3. Wesley Gordon (6'9''-F-94, graduated '17, currently in Hungary) was the major contributor in a Sopron KC's victory against the fifth-ranked ZTE KK (14-20) 89-80 in the Hungarian A Division last Wednesday. He recorded a double-double by scoring 19 points and getting 16 rebounds. Gordon also added 4 assists, 2 blocks and 4 steals in 34 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his second season in pro basketball. Sopron KC (17-17) is placed second in Places 6-10 group. Gordon's team will play only one more game in the Second Stage. And now that game is quite important. Gordon has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 15.9ppg, 10.3rpg, 1.7apg and 2.1bpg.

   #4. Lazar Nikolic (6'8''-SG-99, graduated '19, plays pro in Italy). He could not help Roseto Sharks (15-15) to beat Remer TVG (18-10) in the Italian Serie A2 (second division). Nikolic scored 7 points, grabbed 4 boards, passed 6 assists and added 3 steals. The eighth-placed Roseto Sharks (15-15) lost 74-81 on the road to the higher-ranked (#3) Remer TVG in the East group. It's Nikolic's first season with the team. This year he averages 4.6ppg, 3.3rpg and 1.9apg in 31 games.

   #5. Experienced Marcus Hall (6'1''-G-85, graduated '08, plays in Turkey) led Konyaspor to a victory against the closely-ranked Duzce Belediye (19-11) 68-62 in the Turkish TBL (second division) in Tuesday night's game. Hall recorded a double-double by scoring 12 points and getting the same number of rebounds. He also added 9 assists and 3 steals in 37 minutes. Konyaspor (17-13) is placed seventh in the TBL. This season Hall has very high stats. He averages 19.5ppg, 5.4rpg, 6.0apg and 1.7spg.
