EuroBasket Pro Buckeyes Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Buckeyes players who are currently playing in pro basketball.

   #1. DeShaun Thomas (6'7''-PF-91, graduated '13, plays pro in Greece) led Panathinaikos to a victory against the sixth-ranked Promitheas (15-9) 87-76 in the Greek A1 on Saturday night. He scored 13 points (went 5 for 5 at the free throw line) in 28 minutes. Panathinaikos Superfoods Athens (19-1) is placed first in the A1. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. Thomas has relatively good stats this season 12.9ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.3apg.

   #2. D'Angelo Russell (6'5''-SG-96, graduated '15, plays in the NBA) could not help the Brooklyn Nets (42-40) in their last game. Despite Russell's very good performance the Brooklyn Nets (42-40) were badly defeated 131-115 on the road by the Philadelphia 76ers. He was the top scorer with 26 points. Russell also added 4 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Russell has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 21.2ppg, 3.9rpg, 6.8apg and 1.2spg in 84 games he played so far.

   #3. Aaron Craft (6'2''-PG-91, graduated '14, currently in Italy) was the major contributor in a Dolomiti En. TR's victory against one of league's weakest teams VL Pesaro (7-19) 81-76 in the Italian Serie A last Sunday. Craft scored 19 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 30 minutes. Dolomiti Energia Trento (15-11) is placed sixth in the Serie A. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Craft has relatively good stats this season 12.0ppg, 4.4rpg, 4.6apg and 2.0spg.

   #4. Experienced Othello Hunter (6'8''-C-86, graduated '08, plays pro in Russia) contributed to an easy victory against the seventh-ranked Baskonia (15-15) crushing them 94-68 in the Euroleague on Tuesday night. Hunter recorded 7 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. CSKA Moscow (23-7) is placed second in the Euroleague. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This year Hunter averages 7.8ppg and 4.3rpg in 32 games. He is a naturalized Liberian.

   #5. Evan Ravenel (6'9''-C/F-89, graduated '13, plays in Japan) led Fukushima to a victory over the fifth-ranked Yamagata (21-37) crushing them 104-77 in the Japanese B2 League in Sunday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Ravenel recorded a double-double by scoring 32 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 33 minutes. Fukushima Firebonds (25-33) are placed fourth in East group. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important. This season Ravenel has very high stats. He averages 21.5ppg, 9.0rpg and 2.9apg.

   #6. Jae'Sean Tate (6'4''-F-95, graduated '18, currently in Belgium) was not able to help Telenet Giants Antwerp in their game against Spirou Charleroi in the Belgian Euromillions League. He scored 8 points, had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. His team was edged 80-79. Tate has relatively good stats this year 11.3ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.9apg in 26 games.

   #7. Daequan Cook (6'5''-G/F-87, graduated '07, plays pro in Israel) was not able to secure a victory for Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona (12-15) in their game last Monday. Despite Cook's good performance Ironi Hai Motors Nes-Ziona was crushed 100-73 in Jerusalem by the second-ranked Hapoel. He scored 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 34 minutes. This season Cook has very high stats. He averages 17.4ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.5apg.

   #8. Ronald Lewis (6'4''-SG-84, graduated '07, plays in France) couldn't help FOS Provence Basket (9-19) in their last game. Despite his good performance FOS Provence Basket was edged 91-90 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked (#8) Pau-Lacq-Orthez. Lewis scored 14 points and added 8 assists. Lewis has very impressive stats this year 16.3ppg, 3.6rpg, 3.3apg and 1.2spg in 27 games.

   #9. Zisis Sarikopoulos (7'0''-C-90, graduated '10, currently in Belarus) couldn't help Tsmoki-Minsk in their game against VEF Riga in the VTB United League. Despite his good performance on Sunday night Sarikopoulos was the second best scorer with 10 points. He also added 7 rebounds and made 2 blocks in 24 minutes. Sarikopoulos has relatively good stats this season 10.5ppg, 6.8rpg and 1.3apg.

   #10. Amir Williams (6'11''-C-92, graduated '15, plays pro in Hungary) contributed to an easy victory against the fourth-ranked DEAC crushing them 118-80 in the Hungarian A Division on Wednesday night. He scored 12 points and grabbed 9 rebounds. This year Williams averages 5.4ppg and 4.6rpg in nine games.
