EuroBasket Pro Trojans Weekly Update

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Trojans alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Nikola Vucevic (7'0''-C-90, graduated '11, plays pro in the NBA) led Orlando Magic to a victory over the New York Knicks (15-63) 114-100 in the NBA on Wednesday night. He was MVP of the game. Vucevic recorded a double-double by scoring 29 points and getting 13 rebounds. He also added 3 assists in 33 minutes. The Orlando Magic has 39-40 record this season. There are only three games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Vucevic's seventh year with the team. Vucevic has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 20.6ppg, 12.0rpg, 3.8apg and 1.1bpg.

   #2. DeMar DeRozan (6'7''-F/G-89, graduated '09, plays in the NBA) was the main contributor in a San Antonio Spurs' victory against the Atlanta Hawks (29-50) 117-111 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. DeRozan was MVP of the game. He scored 29 points (!!!), grabbed 7 rebounds and dished 7 assists. The San Antonio Spurs have 45-34 record this season. There are only three games left until the end of the NBA Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. It's DeRozan's first year with the team. DeRozan has very impressive stats this season 21.6ppg, 6.1rpg, 6.2apg and 1.1spg in 73 games he played so far.

   #3. Daniel Hackett (6'4''-G-87, graduated '09, currently in Russia) contributed to CSKA's victory against the 13th-ranked Khimki (9-20) 80-72 in the Euroleague last Friday. He scored 8 points and added 4 assists in 16 minutes. CSKA Moscow (22-7) is placed second in the Euroleague. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. They will play only one more game in the Euroleague Regular Season. And now that game is quite important. It's Hackett's first season with the team. This year Hackett averages 6.3ppg, 1.8rpg and 1.7apg. He is a naturalized Italian.

   #4. Experienced Davon Jefferson (6'9''-F-86, graduated '08, plays pro in Italy) could not help MIA-RO Cantu (12-12) in their last game. Despite his good performance MIA-RO Cantu lost 91-98 on the road to the leading Armani Milano. Jefferson scored 11 points, had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists. Jefferson has very impressive stats this year 17.7ppg, 8.9rpg and 2.6apg in 23 games.

   #5. Sam Clancy (6'8''-C-80, graduated '02, plays in Argentina) was not able to help Instituto in their game against Gimnasia (16-10) in the Argentinian La Liga. Despite his good performance in Monday night's game Clancy recorded 12 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes. This season Clancy averages 4.8ppg, 6.1rpg and 1.4bpg.

   #6. Dwight Lewis (6'6''-G/F-87, graduated '10, currently in Argentina) faced previously mentioned Sam Clancy in the Argentinian La Liga last game. Lewis contributed to a 3-point Gimnasia's victory against the closely-ranked Instituto 83-80. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds. Lewis has relatively good stats this year 13.4ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.7apg in 26 games. He is a naturalized Venezuelan.

   #7. Alex Stepheson (6'10''-F/C-87, graduated '11, plays pro in Japan) was not able to secure a victory for Yokohama BC in their game against Toshiba Thunders in the Japanese B League. Despite his very good performance in Sunday night's game He recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 10 rebounds. Stepheson also added 3 assists in 34 minutes. Stepheson has relatively good stats this season 13.8ppg, 13.1rpg and 1.8apg.

   #8. Jordan McLaughlin (6'1''-G-96, graduated '18, plays in the NBA G League) contributed to a 2-point Long Island Nets' victory against the Lakeland Magic 108-106 in the NBA G League in Tuesday night's game. McLaughlin scored 16 points and added 6 assists. McLaughlin has very impressive stats this year 15.2ppg, 3.3rpg, 4.8apg and 1.6spg in 40 games.

   #9. Dewayne Dedmon (7'0''-C-89, graduated '13, currently in the NBA) couldn't help the Atlanta Hawks in their game against the Portland Trail Blazers in the NBA. He recorded 7 points, 5 rebounds and 2 blocks in 27 minutes. His team were badly defeated by 20 points 118-98 in the NBA. Dedmon has relatively good stats this season 10.8ppg, 7.5rpg, 1.4apg, 1.1bpg and 1.1spg.

   #10. De'Anthony Melton (6'4''-G-98, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA) couldn't help the Phoenix Suns in their game against the Utah Jazz in the NBA. He scored 5 points and added 5 passes. His team were crushed by 21 points 118-97 in the NBA. This year Melton averages 4.8ppg, 2.6rpg, 3.2apg and 1.4spg in 46 games.
