We bring you last week's top former Tigers players who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Delano Spencer (6'3''-G-94, graduated '18, plays pro in Georgia) could not help Cactus Tbilisi (4-11) in their last game. Despite his very good performance Cactus Tbilisi lost 83-90 at home to the leading Kutaisi.
Spencer was the top scorer with 41 points. He also added 4 assists in 36 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Spencer's first season in pro basketball. It was Cactus Tbilisi's fourth consecutive loss in a row.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Spencer has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 22.6ppg, 4.6rpg and 3.4apg in nine games he played so far.
#2. Keron DeShields (6'3''-PG-92, graduated '16, plays in Israel) was not able to help Maccabi Hunter Haifa (15-10) in their last game on Tuesday. Despite his good performance Maccabi Hunter Haifa was defeated 95-88 on the road by the lower-ranked Ironi Ashkelon (#6).
DeShields scored 10 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 8 assists.
His team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial.
It's DeShields' first season with the team.
DeShields has relatively good stats this year 14.7ppg, 4.4rpg, 4.9apg and 1.7spg.
#3. Ken'Darrius Hamilton (6'9''-F/C-96, graduated '18, currently in Georgia) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Rustavi in their game against Kutaisi (13-2) in the Georgian Superleague, despite his very good performance last Friday.
Hamilton was the second best scorer with 19 points in 27 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his first season in pro basketball. But Rustavi lost 75-87 on the opponent's court to the leading Kutaisi.
It's Hamilton's first year with the team.
Hamilton has very impressive stats this season 16.2ppg and 5.2rpg in 11 games.
#4. Chaed Wellian (6'9''-F-92, graduated '14, plays pro in United Kingdom) couldn't help Surrey Scorchers (5-20) in their game against Leicester Riders (18-6) in the British BBL. Despite his good performance on Sunday night Wellian scored 12 points.
Wellian has relatively good stats this season 11.6ppg, 3.8rpg and 1.2apg.
#5. Lonnie Funderburke (6'8''-F/C-88, graduated '10, plays in Australia) couldn't help Newcastle Hunters (3-0) in their game against Sydney City Comets (1-2) in the Australian State League (second division). He did not have that impressive stats last Saturday.
Funderburke recorded only 2 points in 14 minutes.
The second-placed Newcastle Hunters (3-0) were crushed 106-68 in Alexandria by the much lower-ranked (#10) Sydney City Comets in the WARATAH group.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
This year Funderburke averages 7.7ppg and 6.3rpg in three games.
