EuroBasket Pro Bobcats Weekly Update

We bring you last week's top former Bobcats players who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Cameron Naylor (6'7''-F-94, graduated '16, plays pro in Cyprus) could not help Apollon in their game last Wednesday. Despite Naylor's good performance Apollon was defeated 86-75 on the road by the second-ranked Keravnos. He recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 15 rebounds (was perfect 5-for-5 from the free throw line) in 36 minutes. Naylor has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 15.9ppg, 10.1rpg and 1.8apg. He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.

   #2. Joel Wright (6'7''-F-90, graduated '14, plays in Switzerland) was not able to help Monthey (0-1) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the fifth-placed Monthey (0-1) lost 87-98 at home to the second-ranked Geneve Lions in the Places 1-6 group. Wright was the second best scorer with 17 points. He also added 6 rebounds and 4 assists. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Wright's first season with the team. Wright has very impressive stats this year 18.1ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.7apg and 1.5spg in 11 games he played so far. He is a naturalized Jamaican.

   #3. Emani Gant (6'8''-F-94, graduated '16, currently in Slovenia) was not able to secure a victory for Zlatorog (3-15) in their game against Sencur Gorenjska gradbena druzba Kranj (6-4) in the Slovenian Liga Nova KBM. He recorded 8 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 20 minutes. The second-placed Zlatorog (3-15) was defeated 74-69 in Kranj by the second-ranked Sencur Gorenjska gradbena druzba in the Places 7-10 group. It was Zlatorog's 13th consecutive loss in a row. Gant has relatively good stats this season 10.8ppg and 5.2rpg.

   #4. Tony Bishop (6'7''-F-89, graduated '11, plays pro in Romania) contributed to a 3-point Pitesti's victory against the fourth-ranked Craiova (11-11) 83-80 in the Romanian Liga Nationala on Sunday night. Bishop scored 10 points, grabbed 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists. BCM U FC Arges Pitesti (9-13) is placed sixth in Group Red. There are only two games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game is very crucial. Bishop has relatively good stats this year 12.6ppg, 6.5rpg, 1.7apg and 1.1spg in 17 games.

   #5. Victor Bermudez (6'4''-G-92, graduated '15, plays in Spain) couldn't help Lanzarote (10-15) in their game last Saturday. Despite Bermudez's good performance the ninth-placed Lanzarote (10-15) was badly defeated 79-61 on their home court in Arrecife by the leading Gran Canaria II in the Group B. He was the top scorer with 12 points. Bermudez also added 5 rebounds and dished 5 assists in 34 minutes. This season Bermudez has very high stats. He averages 16.0ppg, 4.4rpg, 2.6apg and 1.2spg. Worth to mention he played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped him get the job in pro basketball.

Darius Richardson (6'4''-G-92) played for Team Utah in the Eurobasket S.League last year
A.J. Stewart (6'9''-F-88) played for Rochester RazorSharks in the TBL last year
