Every week we bring you a list of the top former Cougars players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Experienced Jeleel Akindele (7'1''-C-83, graduated '05, plays pro in Mexico) could not help Fuerza Regia Monterrey (31-9) in their game last Sunday. Despite his very good performance the first-placed Fuerza Regia Monterrey (31-9) was edged 84-81 on the road by the lower-ranked Lenadores (#3) in the North group.
Akindele was the top scorer with 23 points. He also added 6 rebounds in 28 minutes.
It's Akindele's first season with the team.
Akindele has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 17.0ppg, 8.4rpg and 2.8apg.
#2. Trayvon Palmer (6'6''-G/F-94, played in 2014-17, plays in the NBA G League) was not able to help the Northern Arizona Suns (11-38) in their last game. Despite Palmer's good performance the Northern Arizona Suns (#5) were edged 129-127 in Hidalgo by the Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
He scored 14 points, grabbed 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Palmer's second season in pro basketball. It was Northern Arizona Suns' fourth consecutive loss in a row.
His team will play only one more game in the NBA G League Regular Season. And that game will be critical.
It's Palmer's first year with the team.
This season Palmer averages 6.5ppg, 4.1rpg and 1.3apg in 31 games he played so far.
#3. Carl Montgomery (6'8''-F-89, graduated '13, currently in Latvia) was not able to secure a victory for Jurmala (9-4) in their game against Parnu (12-15) in the Latvian LatEstBL.
He recorded 7 points and grabbed 8 rebounds in 15 minutes.
Jurmala was defeated 87-72 on the opponent's court by the lower-ranked Parnu (#9).
Montgomery's team will play only one more game in the Regular Season. And now that game is very crucial.
This season Montgomery averages 5.3ppg and 7.3rpg.
#4. Clarke Rosenberg (6'4''-G-93, graduated '15, plays pro in Israel) contributed to a 3-point Elitzur Kiryat Ata's victory against the 12th-ranked Maccabi Rehovot (9-15) 91-88 in the Israeli National League (second division) on Tuesday night.
Rosenberg scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds.
Elitzur Kiryat Ata (11-11) is placed seventh in the National League.
There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be important.
It's Rosenberg's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year 12.3ppg, 4.0rpg and 2.3apg in 22 games.
Rosenberg is a naturalized Israeli.
#5. Deionte Simmons (6'9''-C-96, graduated '18, plays in Denmark) couldn't help Wolfpack/BMS (7-15) in their game last Thursday. Despite Simmons' good performance the second-placed Wolfpack/BMS (7-15) was crushed 112-67 in Horsens by the lower-ranked Horsens IC (#8) in the ProB group.
He recorded 10 points in 19 minutes.
It's Simmons' first season with the team.
This year Simmons has very high stats. He averages 20.0ppg and 7.4rpg.
#6. Jawad Adekoya (6'6''-G, graduated '16, currently in United Kingdom) couldn't help Plymouth University Raiders in their game against London Lions in the British BBL.
He recorded 5 points.
His team was crushed by 26 points 93-67.
This year Adekoya averages 4.8ppg, 2.3rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3spg in four games.
He is a naturalized British.
#7. Glen Burns (6'3''-G-95, graduated '18, plays pro in Georgia) couldn't help one of league's weakest teams Arena-Orbi (2-7) in their game last Thursday. Despite Burns' very good performance Arena-Orbi was edged 74-72 by the higher-ranked MBG (#3).
He recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and getting 10 rebounds. Burns also added 8 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) in 40 minutes.
This season he has very high stats. Burns averages 16.4ppg, 8.1rpg, 5.7apg and 3.0spg.
#8. Sean Hill (6'2''-G-92, graduated '15, plays in Armenia) led Artsakh to a victory over the closely-ranked Urartu-Vivaro 105-97 in the Armenian League A in Thursday night's game.
Hill was MVP of the game. He recorded 28 points (!!!), 8 assists and 5 steals.
Hill has very impressive stats this year 20.6ppg, 6.7rpg, 7.3apg and 2.4spg in seven games.
