EuroBasket Pro Dukes Weekly Update

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Dukes alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Experienced Aaron Jackson (6'3''-G-86, graduated '09, plays pro in China) was the major contributor in a Shougang Beijing Ducks' victory against the tenth-ranked Sharks (24-22) 110-97 in the Chinese CBA in Saturday night's game. He recorded 29 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 6 assists in 30 minutes. Shougang Beijing Ducks (30-16) are placed sixth in the CBA. Jackson has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 24.9ppg, 5.5rpg, 7.6apg and 1.5spg in 42 games he played so far.

   #2. Ovie Soko (6'7''-PF-91, graduated '14, plays in Spain) led Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB to an easy victory against the tenth-ranked Zaragoza (11-12) crushing them 116-94 in the Spanish Liga Endesa last Sunday. He scored 17 points. Universidad Catolica de Murcia CB (7-16) is placed second from the bottom (#17) in the Liga Endesa. Soko has relatively good stats this season 10.5ppg, 4.7rpg and 1.4apg.

   #3. Kieron Achara (6'10''-F-83, graduated '08, currently in United Kingdom) led Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks to a victory over the league outsider Worcester Wolves (3-20) 92-79 in the British BBL on Sunday night. He was MVP of the game. Achara recorded 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks in 23 minutes. Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks (11-10) is placed sixth in the BBL. It's Achara's fifth season with the team. He has relatively good stats this year 12.0ppg, 5.7rpg, 1.7apg, 1.3bpg and 1.1spg in 21 games. Achara has also Nigerian nationality.

   #4. Martin Osimani (6'5''-G-81, graduated '05, plays pro in Uruguay) contributed to Bigua's victory against the second-ranked Olimpia (3-3) 82-74 in a derby game in the Uruguayan LUB in Friday night's game. He scored 6 points, made 9 passes and 6 steals. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 7-10. Atletico Bigua Montevideo (4-2) is placed first. The Second Stage already ended. Osimani has relatively good stats this season 10.1ppg, 3.3rpg, 6.7apg and 1.4spg.

   #5. Derrick Colter (5'11''-PG-94, graduated '16, plays in Switzerland) contributed to a Geneve Lions' victory against the leader Fribourg 79-75 in the Swiss SBL last Saturday. He recorded 13 points and added 5 passes in 37 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 3 ranked teams in group Places 1-6. Lions de Geneveis placed second. It's Colter's first season with the team. Colter has relatively good stats this year 14.1ppg, 3.7rpg, 5.7apg and 1.1spg in 20 games.

   #6. Josh Steel (6'5''-SG-97, graduated '17, currently in Spain), who plays in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) could not help Actel Forca Lleida to beat Real Canoe. Steel did not beat the league record on Friday evening. He scored only 2 points. His team was edged 65-64. This season Steel averages 2.3ppg.
