EuroBasket Pro Pirates Weekly Update

Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Pirates players who continue their career in pro basketball.



   #1. Experienced Devin Green (6'7''-G/F-82, graduated '05, plays pro in Qatar) could not help Al Sadd (12-4) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the league leader Al Sadd lost 81-87 in a derby game to the lower-ranked (#4) Al Arabi. Green had a double-double by scoring 20 points and getting 14 rebounds. He also added 6 assists in 45 minutes. Green has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 18.5ppg, 8.3rpg, 4.0apg and 1.3spg in four games he played so far.

   #2. Reginald Johnson (6'3''-G-94, graduated '16, plays in Hungary) led Kaposvari to a victory over the sixth-ranked DEAC (11-10) crushing them 103-79 in the Hungarian A Division last Saturday. He was MVP of the game. Johnson scored 25 points and grabbed 5 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. Kaposvari KK (9-12) is placed tenth in the A Division. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. This season Johnson has very high stats. He averages 17.0ppg, 4.1rpg, 3.1apg and 1.2spg.

   #3. Vincent Simpson (6'1''-PG-88, graduated '09, currently in Finland), who plays in the Finnish Korisliiga was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Joensuun Kataja Basket (16-11) in their last game. Despite his good performance Joensuun Kataja Basket lost 93-100 on the road to the higher-ranked (#4) BC Nokia. Simpson recorded 13 points and added 3 assists in 23 minutes. Simpson has relatively good stats this year 11.7ppg, 2.4rpg and 3.8apg in 24 games.

   #4. Danny Agbelese (6'9''-F/C-90, graduated '12, plays pro in Greece) was not able to secure a victory for Holargos (8-10) in their game against AEK (13-5) in the Greek A1. Agbelese scored 6 points and grabbed 4 rebounds. Holargos was defeated 81-70 at home by the higher-ranked AEK (#3). It was Holargos' third consecutive loss in a row. It's Agbelese's first season with the team. This year he averages 8.2ppg, 7.2rpg and 1.8bpg. Agbelese is a naturalized Nigerian.

   #5. Quinton Chievous (6'6''-F/G-92, graduated '16, plays in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Capital City Go-Go (22-23) in their game against the Erie Bay Hawks (20-24) in the NBA G League. Chievous scored only 4 points in 14 minutes. The Capital City Go-Go (#2) was crushed 121-100 on their home court in Washington by the Bay Hawks. It was Capital City Go-Go's fourth consecutive loss in a row. This year Chievous averages 5.4ppg and 2.5rpg in 20 games.

   #6. Du'Vaughn Maxwell (6'7''-F-91, graduated '14, currently in Israel) couldn't help Ramat Gan in their game against Afula in the Israeli National League (second division). Despite his very good performance last Tuesday He was the top scorer with 17 points. Maxwell also added 5 rebounds, passed 4 assists and added 2 blocks. This season Maxwell has very high stats. He averages 18.4ppg, 6.5rpg, 2.6apg, 1.4bpg and 1.5spg.
