Traditionally, every week we bring you a list of the top former Gaels players who continue their career in pro basketball.
#1. Scott Machado (6'1''-G-90, graduated '12, plays pro in the NBA G League) could not help the South Bay Lakers (17-26) in their game last Tuesday. Despite his very good performance the South Bay Lakers (#4) were defeated 114-100 on the road by the Northern Arizona Suns.
Machado was the top scorer with 34 points. He also added 4 rebounds and dished 9 assists in 35 minutes.
Machado has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages 15.8ppg, 3.5rpg and 7.4apg.
Machado is a naturalized Brazilian.
#2. Experienced Kiril Wachsmann (6'8''-C-84, graduated '06, plays in Uruguay) was not able to help Olimpia (1-1) in their last game. Despite Wachsmann's very good performance the first-placed Olimpia (1-1) lost 94-108 in a derby game to the second-ranked Hebraica in the Places 7-10 group.
He had a double-double by scoring 15 points and getting 11 rebounds. Wachsmann also added 5 assists.
There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical.
It's Wachsmann's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year 12.0ppg, 9.9rpg and 2.0apg in 28 games he played so far.
Wachsmann has also Uruguayan passport.
#3. David Laury (6'9''-F/C-90, graduated '15, currently in Puerto Rico), who plays in the Puerto Rican BSN was not able to secure a victory for Brujos de Guayama (0-2) in their game last Friday. Despite his very good performance Brujos de Guayama was edged 95-93 in Fajardo by the second-ranked Cariduros.
Laury recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and getting 16 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks in 25 minutes. It was his first game for Brujos de Guayama this season.
But this is still an early stage of the season and everything may happen.
#4. Aaron Rountree III (6'8''-F-93, graduated '16, plays pro in Qatar) led Qatar Sports Club Doha to a victory against the league leader Al Sadd (12-4) 92-85 in a derby game in the Qatari D1 on Saturday night.
He recorded 21 points, 7 rebounds and 7 assists; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Rountree III's third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Qatar Sports Club Doha (12-4) is placed third in the D1.
It's Rountree III's first year with the team.
He has relatively good stats this season 14.3ppg, 9.6rpg, 6.2apg, 2.1bpg and 2.6spg in 19 games.
#5. Norvel Pelle (6'10''-F-93, graduated '13, plays in the NBA G League) was the major contributor in a Delaware Blue Coats' victory against the Capital City Go-Go (22-22) 125-111 in the NBA G League in Friday night's game.
He recorded a double-double by scoring 22 points and getting 16 rebounds. Pelle also added 2 blocks in 24 minutes.
The Delaware Blue Coats have 17-23 record this season.
It's Pelle's first year with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year 10.3ppg, 8.1rpg, 1.2apg and 3.0bpg.
Pelle is a naturalized Lebanese.
#6. Steven Burtt (6'3''-G-84, graduated '06, currently in Greece), who plays in the Greek A1 couldn't help Cretan Kings (3-15) in their last game. Despite Burtt's very good performance the bottom-ranked Cretan Kings lost 75-87 at home to the leading Panathinaikos.
He was the top scorer with 22 points. Burtt also added 4 assists.
He has very impressive stats this year 17.7ppg, 2.4rpg and 3.4apg in 18 games.
Burtt is a naturalized Ukrainian.
#7. Evangelos Bebis (6'6''-PG-95, graduated '15, plays pro in Greece) couldn't help Apollon Patras (7-13) in their game last Saturday. Despite Bebis' good performance Apollon Patras was defeated 84-71 on the opponent's court by the much higher-ranked Ippokratis (#5).
He scored 10 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 39 minutes.
This season Bebis averages 9.7ppg, 3.7rpg, 1.8apg and 1.3spg.
#8. Lamont Jones (6'0''-PG-90, graduated '13, plays in Germany) couldn't help MHP RIESEN Ludwigsburg in their game against Braunschweig in the German BBL.
He scored 6 points.
His team lost 94-104.
Jones has relatively good stats this year 13.8ppg, 2.3rpg and 3.0apg in 17 games.
#9. Zach Lewis (6'3''-G-94, graduated '18, currently in Switzerland) led Boncourt to a victory over the closely-ranked Massagno 84-76 in the Swiss SBL last Sunday.
Lewis was MVP of the game. He scored 19 points, grabbed 6 boards, dished 7 assists and stole 5 balls (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) in 39 minutes.
This season Lewis has very high stats. He averages 21.6ppg, 4.7rpg, 4.4apg and 2.6spg.
#10. TK Edogi (6'8''-F-94, graduated '18, plays pro in Turkey) couldn't help Sakarya Buyuksehir Basketbol in their game against Acibadem in the Turkish BSL.
He recorded only 4 points, 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
His team lost 83-87.
This year Edogi averages 10.0ppg and 5.8rpg in eight games.
He is a naturalized Nigerian.
