Here is the weekly review of the top performing Cowboys alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. P.J. Alawoya (6'8''-F-88, graduated '11, plays pro in Iceland) led Tindastoll to an overtime victory over the ninth-ranked IR (8-11) 90-85 in the Icelandic Dominos League on Sunday night.
Alawoya was MVP of the game. He recorded 26 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 4 blocks in 34 minutes.
U.M.F. Tindastoll Sauoarkrokur (13-6) is placed third in the Dominos League.
It was his team's first victory after three consecutive loses.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
It's Alawoya's first season with the team.
Alawoya has relatively good stats this year 11.6ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.6spg.
He is a naturalized Nigerian.
He is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas.
#2. Patrick Richard (6'5''-G/F-90, graduated '12, plays in Italy). He could not help Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia (5-15) to beat Openjobmetis VA (12-8) in the Italian Serie A.
Richard scored 7 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished 4 assists.
Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia lost 80-92 on the road to the much higher-ranked (#6) Openjobmetis VA.
It was Grissin Bon Reggio Emilia's sixth consecutive loss in a row.
Richard has relatively good stats this year 11.6ppg, 7.8rpg and 1.6spg in five games he played so far.
#3. Experienced Fabulous Flournoy (6'4''-G/F-73, graduated '96, currently in United Kingdom) managed to help Newcastle Eagles Esh Group to win against the tenth-ranked Bristol Acadamy Flyers (8-11) 95-89 in the British BBL last Friday.
Flournoy scored only 4 points and added 5 passes in 12 minutes.
Newcastle Eagles Esh Group (14-7) is placed third in the BBL.
It's Flournoy's 18th season with the team.
This year he averages 1.2ppg, 2.8rpg and 2.1apg.
Flournoy is a naturalized British.
#4. Diego Kapelan (6'3''-G-87, graduated '11, plays pro in Canada) was not able to help the St. John's Edge (18-14) in their last game. Despite his good performance the St. John's Edge lost 111-116 in Greater Sudbury to the Sudbury Five.
Kapelan scored 12 points.
It was St. John's Edge's fourth consecutive loss in a row.
It's Kapelan's first season with the team.
He has relatively good stats this year 10.9ppg, 2.4rpg and 1.5apg in 30 games.
Kapelan has also Canadian nationality.
