Here is the weekly review of the top performing Sooners alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.
#1. Trae Young (6'2''-G-98, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA) could not help the Atlanta Hawks (21-42) in their last game. Despite his very good performance the Atlanta Hawks (21-42) lost 161-168 on the road to the Chicago Bulls.
Young had a double-double by scoring 49 points and making 16 passes. He also added 8 rebounds in 56 minutes; quite an impressive performance considering it's only Young's first season in pro basketball. Young has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages 17.8ppg, 3.3rpg and 7.7apg in 62 games he played so far.
#2. Buddy Hield (6'4''-G-93, graduated '16, plays in the NBA) led Sacramento Kings to a 3-point victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder (38-23) 119-116 in the NBA last Saturday.
Hield was MVP of the game. He scored 34 points (!!!), had 5 rebounds and dished 4 assists; not bad, considering it's only Hield's third season in pro basketball. The Sacramento Kings have 31-31 record this season.
This year Hield has very high stats. He averages 20.8ppg, 5.2rpg and 2.3apg.
#3. Tashawn Thomas (6'8''-F-93, graduated '15, currently in Israel) led Hapoel Jerusalem to a victory against the sixth-ranked Beer Sheva (9-10) 89-79 in the Israeli Winner League on Thursday night.
Thomas recorded 12 points, 7 rebounds and 3 blocks in 27 minutes.
Hapoel Jerusalem (14-5) is placed second in the Winner League.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
There are only three games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical.
Thomas has relatively good stats this year 11.3ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.9apg and 1.3bpg in 15 games.
#4. Blake Griffin (6'10''-F-89, graduated '09, plays pro in the NBA) was the major contributor in a Detroit Pistons' victory against the Indiana Pacers (41-22) 113-109 in the NBA in Monday night's game.
Griffin recorded a triple-double by scoring 20 points, grabbing 10 rebounds and passing 10 assists.
The Detroit Pistons have 29-31 record this season.
It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row.
This season Griffin has very high stats. He averages 25.7ppg, 8.0rpg and 5.4apg.
#5. Tony Crocker (6'7''-F/G-87, graduated '10, plays in Russia) was not able to help one of league's weakest teams Khimki (9-15) in their last game. Despite Crocker's very good performance Khimki lost 85-94 in Athens to the higher-ranked (#11) Panathinaikos.
He scored 15 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in 30 minutes.
This year Crocker averages 9.5ppg, 2.3rpg and 1.5apg in 24 games.
#6. Andrew Fitzgerald (6'8''-C/F-90, graduated '13, currently in Japan), who plays in the Japanese B2 League was not able to secure a victory for Ehime Orange Vikings (17-26) in their last game on Saturday. Despite Fitzgerald's very good performance the fourth-placed Ehime Orange Vikings were defeated 110-99 in Kumamoto by the leading Volters in the West group.
He was the second best scorer with 25 points. Fitzgerald also added 9 rebounds and dished 4 assists.
This season Fitzgerald has very high stats. He averages 27.0ppg, 11.9rpg and 2.9apg.
#7. Khadeem Lattin (6'9''-F-95, graduated '18, plays pro in the NBA G League) couldn't help the Northern Arizona Suns in their game against the Oklahoma City Blue in the NBA G League.
He scored 8 points, grabbed 4 rebounds and made 2 blocks in only 12 minutes.
His team lost 113-127 in the NBA G League.
This year Lattin averages 2.6ppg and 2.4rpg in eight games.
