EuroBasket Pro Pride Weekly Update

Here is the weekly review of the top performing Pride alumni, who are currently playing in pro basketball.



   #1. Charles Jenkins (6'3''-G-89, graduated '11, plays pro in Russia). He could not help one of league's weakest teams Khimki (9-14) to beat Panathinaikos (10-13) in the Euroleague. Jenkins scored 9 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 31 minutes. But Khimki was defeated 94-85 on the road by the higher-ranked Panathinaikos (#11). It's Jenkins' first season with the team. This year he averages 7.2ppg, 3.0rpg and 1.3apg. Jenkins is a naturalized Serbian.

   #2. Experienced Aurimas Kieza (6'7''-PF-82, graduated '06, plays in Lithuania) was not able to help Suduva-Mantinga (28-10) in their last game. Despite Kieza's good performance the second-placed Suduva-Mantinga (28-10) was edged 88-86 in Joniskis by the lower-ranked (#8) Delikatesas in the Places 1-8 group. He scored 13 points, had 7 rebounds and dished 7 assists. There are only four games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Kieza's fourth season with the team. Kieza has relatively good stats this year 10.6ppg, 4.9rpg and 1.7apg in 33 games he played so far.

   #3. Ameen Tanksley (6'5''-G-92, graduated '16, currently in Cyprus) was not able to secure a victory for AEL in their game against Omonia (6-12) in the Cypriot Division A. He scored 9 points in 28 minutes. But AEL was defeated 88-84 in Nicosia by the one of league's weakest teams Omonia (#7). This season Tanksley averages 8.8ppg, 7.3rpg and 1.5apg.

   #4. Rokas Gustys (6'9''-F/C-94, graduated '18, plays pro in Spain) contributed to a Chocalates Trapa Palencia's victory against the closely-ranked Magia Huesca (14-9) 79-68 in the Spanish LEB Gold (second division) on Sunday night. Gustys scored 6 points and grabbed 8 rebounds. Chocalates Trapa Palencia (14-9) is placed seventh in the LEB Gold. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. It's Gustys' first season with the team. This year he averages 6.8ppg and 5.7rpg in 23 games.

   #5. Moussa Kone (6'8''-F-93, graduated '15, plays in Spain) is a teammate of previously mentioned Rokas Gustys and both played together in the last Spanish LEB Gold game. Kone helped Chocalates Trapa Palencia win their game against the closely-ranked Magia Huesca (14-9) 79-68. He scored 6 points in only 11 minutes. It's Kone's first season with the team. This year Kone averages 5.7ppg and 4.2rpg. He is a naturalized Ivorian.

   #6. Darren Townes (6'7''-F-86, graduated '09, currently in Portugal), who plays in the Portuguese Proliga (second division) couldn't help Belenenses CF (14-6) in their last game. Despite his good performance the fourth-placed Belenenses CF lost 77-83 in a derby game to the leading Academia in the Group A. Townes had a double-double by scoring 14 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. Townes has relatively good stats this year 13.5ppg, 9.2rpg, 1.9apg and 1.4spg in 13 games.
